Isolation
Bob Law Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wanna be locked up with you
I wanna be locked up with you
I don't even care what we'd do
Just as long as i'm locked up with you
I wanna be locked up with you
So tell your mom to isolate me too
Isolate me too
Isolate me with you
Isolate me too
Isolate me with you
I've been spending to much time by myself
I need to spend some time with someone else
The only person i wanna see is you
So tell your mom to isolate me too
Isolate me too
Isolate me with you
Isolate me too
Isolate me with you
I S O L A T E
I S O L A T E
I S O L A T E
Fuck covid-19
Isolate me too
Isolate me with you

Isolate me too
Isolate me with you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bob Law's song "Isolation" express a longing for companionship and connection during a time of isolation, likely inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. The repetition of the line "I wanna be locked up with you" emphasizes the desire to be with a specific person, regardless of the circumstances or activities they would engage in. The singer of the song is willing to embrace the idea of being confined together, as long as they are in the company of their desired partner.

The plea to "tell your mom to isolate me too" suggests that the singer wants to be geographically closer to their love interest, implying that their partner's household may be isolating separately. This desire to be included in their partner's isolation conveys a strong longing to share physical proximity and possibly implies that the singer feels a sense of safety and comfort in the presence of their loved one.

The repetition of the phrase "Isolate me too, isolate me with you" further emphasizes the yearning for togetherness and the desire to escape the solitude that the singer has been experiencing. This repetition serves as an affirmation of their affection and a declaration of their willingness to adapt to the circumstances for the sake of being with their loved one.

The final lines, "I S O L A T E, Fuck covid-19, isolate me too, isolate me with you" encapsulate the frustration and defiance towards the pandemic itself. By spelling out the word "isolate" and following it with a dismissive remark about the virus, the singer expresses a strong desire to overcome the barriers of isolation and be united with their partner, defying the limitations imposed by the current situation.

Overall, the lyrics of "Isolation" convey a message of longing, affection, and the need for human connection even in the face of difficult circumstances. It showcases the emotional impact that the pandemic has had on individuals and the yearning for closeness and shared experiences that is deeply ingrained in human nature.

I can really empathise with not only your content, but also your confession. I have always been a loner among a circle of people who practice unproductive behaviour. Most of them just wouldn't understand my desire to focus on literature, philosophy and psychology as a means of self development, insight into others behaviour and at the same time entertainment.
I'm now on my way to becoming a librarian focusing on comparison of literature, but am still struggling to find a meaningful and supportive environment.
I sincerely hope you have by now managed to strengthen your your social foundation and can manage to flourish even further.
I greatly enjoy your videos and have been watching your channel for years now.
I hope you read this and can draw strength from it while looking forward.

If I might suggest a slightly different topic: Schopenhauer and his view on life. It is described most condensedly in his "Aphorisms about life wisdom" (rough translation)

Continue kicking ass, you were a great source of inspiration in my dark times, as well as many others. :)

There have been times in my life where I've isolated myself from friends and family, it strains relationships, made me inverted when I'm in reality an extovert, socially awkward even though I'm witty, charming and get along great with people. so bad that I took up the bottle and trust me, you know you've gone to far where you believe you can't even go out in public until half of it is down your throat. Since I've come to learn the 48 laws and study each one individually, this video reassures me that isolation holds me back and that I should keep in touch with the relationships I still have, go out with people and be social in comparison to staying at home. Meet new people and continue to form new relationships. In my experience isolation means memories I'll never have, lessons I won't learn and opportunities missed. First time commenting on YouTube. Thanks for these enlighten videos bro. Really helping others and the first of many steps for making my life better for sure!

I enjoy listening to your thoughts at the end of the video. It kinda reveal small stuff about you which is very likable! to be honest, i also do the same thing. I workout alone, listen to brain music, read books, learn and i live in my own place. also thingking about being my own boss soon... i feel you and i like it.

@Illacertus

Appreciate that, mate. I've since realized that there's nothing wrong with a bit of isolation as long as you use that time to become a stronger, wiser, better self. I also like to hang around people, but they're usually years older and dare I say more mature than most of our generation. Godspeed & thank you for the feedback!

@chuckeatbones5670

+illacertus that's weird. I also hangout with older people and am introvert but when I'm with friends and stuff I have extroverted tendencies. I think I've learned to cope with them. For some reason, even if I am alone, I don't feel any loneliness. Looks like I like my own company. Anyways, keep up the good work. I subscribed today! I'm happy to have found your page!
