During 1970 and 1971, Wailer, Marley and Tosh worked with renowned reggae producers Leslie Kong and Lee "Scratch" Perry.
They released four albums before signing to Island Records in 1972. Two more albums were created before Tosh and Wailer left the band in 1974, citing grievances over label treatment and ideological differences. Marley carried on with a new line-up, including the I-Threes that put out seven more more albums. Marley died in 1981.
The Wailers were a groundbreaking ska and reggae group, noted for songs such as "Simmer Down", "Trenchtown Rock", "Nice Time", "War", "Stir It Up" and "Get Up, Stand Up".

Do You Still Love Me
Bob Marley & The Wailers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
′Cause it's a pain away, there′s another for you
Tell me, my darlin', so I may know
If I must leave, stay or go
Now we are together, we will love each other
And if you still love me, I love you endlessly
Do you still love me, like you used to do?
Now we are together, we will love each other
And if you still love me, I love you endlessly
Tell me my darlin', so I may know
If I must leave, stay or go
If I must leave, stay or go
If I must leave...
In Bob Marley & The Wailers's song Do You Still Love Me, the singer is questioning the depth of their partner's love. They ask if the love that once existed is still present, or if their love has faded and been replaced with someone else. The pain that the singer feels is signified by "there's another for you," indicating that their insecurities stem from a suspicion that their partner may have moved on. The singer then seeks clarity, asking their partner to tell them if their love has truly changed, so they can make informed decisions about their future, whether to stay or go.
The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and uncertainty in the relationship. There is a feeling of being lost and needing guidance from their partner. While the singer loves endlessly, there is still a hesitance to make a commitment without knowing if their partner is fully invested in the relationship. The repetition of "we will love each other" highlights the singer's hope for a future where their love is reignited.
