During 1970 and 1971, Wailer, Marley and Tosh worked with renowned reggae producers Leslie Kong and Lee "Scratch" Perry.
They released four albums before signing to Island Records in 1972. Two more albums were created before Tosh and Wailer left the band in 1974, citing grievances over label treatment and ideological differences. Marley carried on with a new line-up, including the I-Threes that put out seven more more albums. Marley died in 1981.
The Wailers were a groundbreaking ska and reggae group, noted for songs such as "Simmer Down", "Trenchtown Rock", "Nice Time", "War", "Stir It Up" and "Get Up, Stand Up".

I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room, Jah provide the bread
Is this love, is this love
Is this love, is this love that I'm feelin'?
I wanna know, wanna know, wanna know now
I got to know, got to know, got to know now
I, I'm willing and able
So I throw my cards on your table
I wanna love you
I wanna love and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room, oh, Jah provide the bread
Is this love, is this love
Is this love, is this love that I'm feelin?
Oh, yes I know, yes I know, yes I know now. (Repeat)
I, I'm willing and able
So I throw my cards on your table
See, I wanna love you
I wanna love and treat you right, love and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room, Jah provide the bread
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
The lyrics of "Is This Love Dub" by Bob Marley & The Wailers are all about love and commitment. The song is a declaration of love, a plea to be able to love and treat someone right every day and night. The singer wants to share a life together with his love, living under the same roof and sharing the same room, and the phrase "Jah provide the bread" reinforces the idea of them being a joint and self-sufficient unit.
The repetition of the phrase "is this love" alludes to the idea that sometimes we question whether what we feel is true love or not. This idea is further emphasized in the chorus where the singer wants to know whether the feelings he has are real and wants to know for sure. Nevertheless, he is willing and able to take the gamble and put all his cards on the table.
Overall, the lyrics of "Is This Love Dub" are heartfelt and sincere, expressing a deep desire for love and companionship that transcends the uncertainties of life.
