My Special Angel
Bobby Helms Lyrics

(Angel, angel, whoa-oh-oh-oh, whoa)
(Angel, angel, whoa-oh-oh-oh, whoa)

You are my special angel
Sent from up above
The Lord smiled down on me
And sent an angel to love (to love)

You are my special angel
Right from paradise
I know you're an angel
Heaven is in your eyes

The smile from your lips brings the summer sunshine
Tears from your eyes bring the rain
I feel your touch, your warm embrace
And I'm in heaven again

You are my special angel
Through eternity
I'll have my special angel
Here to watch over me

(A smile from your lips brings the summer sunshine)
(The tears from your eyes bring the rain)
I feel your touch, your warm embrace
And I'm in heaven again

You are my special angel
Through eternity
I'll have my special angel
Here to watch over me (watch over me)

Here to watch over me
(Angel, angel, whoa-oh-oh-oh, oh, oh oh, oh)

I sing this song to my late wife who I lost four years ago I know she hears me she was a special Angel to me and now I do it on Valentine's day

That is interesting Ron. I sang that song to my wife since our college days, where I found her and married her. I lost my wife 6 years ago after 45 years. Miss her so much and she is My Special Angel

Awww. My Mom once told me that when I was a baby, my Dad would hold me and sing this song to me. 22 years later, on my wedding day, Dad had found the 45 and played it for the Father/ Daughter dance. 😯😭❤❤❤❤ I miss you Daddy and Mom too. 😞 Now...I'm 63. Where have the years gone?.

@John Robertson Hi

Its nice that you made it to 63. I had a special nephew who died at 8 years old from spinabifida complications. When he was born his entire spine was wide open. The docs asked if they wanted to just let him go, or see if surgery could save him. They operated on him for 12 hrs and he lived. However, he was in and out of the hospital his entire life getting stuck with needles and suffered so much. We stuck by his side always like your mom. Yet, he always had a smile and a laugh for everyone. He loved people and was the most loving, caring child. That was 46 years ago. I look forward to seeing him in the resurrection Jesus talked about. John 5:28-29, psalms 37;10-11, 29, under God's Kingdom rule.

Take care.

Jan, he couldn't have picked a better song, best version for me. I do note, I don't think this is his original version done in '57, and of course this is not the live Ed Sullivan version. After hearing the clap at the end, I know this isn't the orig '57 version. But maybe it was the live Sullivan version that was out of sync with the video.

I've always done the same thing, she's now 15 but she's always my special angel 🙂
