this was a popular song here in arkansas and was well played on the juke boxes all over the mid south. our band made a record at alley records in jonesboro, not long after this song was out. mr. joe lee, the owner of alley records told me that he recorded and distributed this for bobby lee and i believe the said it made him about eighty thousand dollars, which was a lot of money back then. i recall we paid joe lee about 50 bucks to record our song and he agreed to make an initial deal to cut 500 copies and distribute them, to see it they would take hold. however, we could not raise the one hundred and 50 dollars to make the deal....end of our recording career. i was in the army in 68 and wrote joe lee to see if he still have the master copy of our songs and to my surprise, he mailed it to me overseas. i will always appreciate him and what he did for music production in north east arkansas. my the almighty bless him.

This was recorded on a portable Voice Of Music reel to reel tape recorder as the studio was as yet unfinished.

Love this number I'm hearing for the first time I could picture Ronnie Hawkins.
