Also..... there is alot more about him than the info provided above
A flexible pianist and keyboardist, Bobby Lyle has long straddled the boundaries between straight-ahead and more commercial forms of jazz. He grew up in Minneapolis and at age six took piano lessons from his mother, who was a church organist. Lyle played clarinet for a period in junior high school before switching back to piano. He considers Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, Erroll Garner, and Art Tatum to have been his early influences. Lyle's first gig was when he was 16 and, after two years of college, in 1964 he became a full-time musician. He spent six years playing locally in Minneapolis and then toured for two years with Young-Holt Unlimited. After returning to Minneapolis for local work (recording a set in 1974 that was released just in Japan), in 1976 Lyle moved to Los Angeles where he quickly got a job with Sly & the Family Stone. After playing with Ronnie Laws, he recorded two solo albums for Capitol. Lyle made guest appearances on recordings by George Benson, Phyllis Hyman, and Esther Phillips and in the early '80s toured with Benson and became Bette Midler's musical director. After two years with Al Jarreau, Lyle recorded a straight-ahead combo date for King (which was reissued as an Evidence CD), conducted for Anita Baker in 1986, and worked with Gerald Albright. In 1988 he began a long association with Atlantic that resulted in the release of six albums between 1989 and 1997, with Pianomagic, a 1991 album of piano solos, being one of the highlights of his career. Bobby Lyle has remained a highly versatile and valuable keyboardist as both leader and sideman during the new millennium, releasing such albums as 2002's Joyful, 2004's Straight and Smooth, and 2006's Hands On on independent labels. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi

Staring into the windows of the world
I can't hear the teacher, his books don't call me at all
I don't see the bad boys tryin' to catch some play...
'cause I love your smile
I love your smile
The clock at work says three
And I wanna be free
Free to scream, free to bathe, free to paint
My toes all day
My boss is lame you know, and so is the pay
I'm gonna put that new black mini on my charge anyway
'cause I love your smile
I love your smile
Time came and showed me your direction
Now I know I'll never ever go back
Taught me that
I can be a better girl with love you give
You rock my world
You dig
I'm showin'
The life that I'm livin'
This is the life that I have
And it's given to you
Yeh'and it's true
La-d-da
Twinkley d
do you
Believe in a girl
like me
Shanice is the one
For you to be with
But when I'm caught
All alone
I start fessin'
It's from a state of depression
And the thunder clouds of doubt move in
I begin to wonder "Do you still love me?"
But after that
My whole world is beautiful
Blow branford
Blow
Time came and showed me your direction
Now I know I'll never ever go back
Taught me that
I can be a better girl with love you give
You rock my world
You dig
Smile...Pstch
'cause I love your smile
I love your smile
The song "I Love Your Smile" by Bobby Lyle is a love song that describes the feeling of being in love and how it can brighten up one's day. The song starts off with the singer daydreaming in their class, staring out of the window, ignoring the teacher's lecture and the bad boys trying to impress the girls. The reason for this is because the singer is too focused on thinking about the person they love whose smile brings them joy and happiness.
The next verse depicts the singer's daily routine at work, which they find boring and tedious. However, the thought of the love of their life inspires them to keep going and to make the most of their day. The chorus is repeated, emphasizing the power of love and how it can overcome any obstacle.
The bridge talks about how meeting the person they love has changed the singer's life for the better. They have learned to love themselves more, and to appreciate the love that they receive. However, doubt creeps in, and the singer begins to question whether their love still loves them. In the end, the singer believes that they are loved, and everything in their world becomes beautiful.
Overall, the song sends a positive message about the power of love and how it can brighten up one's day, even in the darkest moment.
