ONE OF THE TOP RECORDS OF 2008
"...beat pounding and harmonizing from track to track." - Big Wheel Magazine
"Bobot Adrenaline play Radio Tikrit and they must have taken inspiration from Rock and Roll Radio by the Ramones and updated it to today's insane world scene. Kind of a funny beat and a screaming talker lead singer who is telling it like it is. Ok, it did remind us of Holiday in Cambodia a little bit too. Very old skool punk." - Sugar Buzz Magazine
Bobot Adrenaline is a symptom of your environment, a product of this pre-fabricated social order. This complex punk trio is the 11th hour filibuster, the reformation within the legitimate rebel yell that breaths in the air around you then blasts it back in your face with a torrent of amps, strings and discourse that will burn your lungs clean.
Three figures carved from the City of Angels stake out their no spin zone each night releasing a hurricane of faith, anger and madness before a steadfast group of fans. Called punk, pop, reggae, gypsy, even ska, the power trio dodges traditional labels and acknowledges only that their music is the truth. Launching into their set each night, the trio abandoned conventional set lists in 2006 opting instead for the free form cavalcade - never knowing where it will take them. The band members themselves never know what song is coming next until it starts.
Marching on their own orders in 2008, Bobot Adrenaline released their debut e.p. UNFURLED, produced by Tommy Stinson (The Replacements, Guns N Roses, Soul Asylum) and front man Pepper Berry, as well as additional tracks produced by Joey Santiago (The Pixies) a six song work that revels in rebellion, disgust, and betrayal at its most patriotic.
In 2009, they signed to Basement Records and with producer Chuck Dietrich are set to release their follow up - a full length diatribe complete with new as well as unreleased songs that span the band's entire history. February 9th, 2010 will see the release of DUMB BOMB a scathing look at not just America or Obama's America, but ourselves.

Never bend the laws enough to drown your fears
Struggle for a clue here in your logical loop
Tell me one's no good but the second's for you
Bollocks to them means bollocks to you
So hope revenge means more to you
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
To this peculiar string of events
'Cause I'll sit in my penalty box
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
In the end
Can't get nowhere with the weight of that stick
Smashing candles in the rain with a thumbscrew wick
Fueled by your anger and it burns both ends
But it seems to me like a saintly sin
Bollocks to them means bollocks to you
So hope revenge means more to you
'Cause I'll sit right here in my penalty box
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
To this peculiar string of events
'Cause I'll sit in my penalty box
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
In the end
In the end
We're better than this, much
Better than me, so
All I ask is ... one, two, three! One, two, three! Go! Go!
Bollocks to them means bollocks to you
So hope revenge means more to you than it does to me
'Cause I'll sit right here in my penalty box
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
To this peculiar string of events
'Cause I'll sit in my penalty box
'Til the lights go dim and all is quiet again
Don't know what more my absence will bring
In the end
The lyrics of Bobot Adrenaline's "Penalty Box" express a sense of feeling trapped, either for a brief moment or what seems like eternity. There's a recognition of the importance of following the rules, but also a frustration in feeling like one cannot break free from a logical loop. The chorus emphasizes the idea of sitting in one's own "penalty box" as a kind of self-inflicted punishment, until things quiet down and return to normal. At the same time, there's a defiance against anyone who would tell the singer what to do, rejecting the idea of following others' expectations or revenge as a motivator. Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of being stuck and seeking a way out, but unsure of what exactly that might look like.
One interesting fact about "Penalty Box" is that it was originally released in 2002 on the album "Succulent Space Food for Teething Vampires", and later re-released in 2005 on the album "We Continue". The song has been described as one of the band's most popular, and it's often highlighted as an example of their unique blend of punk and alternative rock. The band has been active since the late 1990s, and includes members from the bands Outspoken and 411. Despite having released several full-length albums and touring extensively in the US and Europe, they remain relatively unknown outside of the punk and hardcore scenes. Another interesting fact is that the band has been praised for including socially conscious lyrics in their music, addressing issues like sexism, racism, and police brutality.
In terms of chords, the song follows a fairly standard punk rock structure, with power chords played on guitar and a basic drumbeat. The specific chords used may vary slightly depending on the version of the song, but the general structure is as follows:
Verse: E5 - G5 - A5 - E5
Chorus: C5 - G5 - A5 - E5
The song is played mostly in a fast tempo, with occasional breaks for emphasis on certain lyrics or to add variation to the rhythm. At times, the guitar will break away from the main riff and play a solo or fill, but the focus remains on keeping the energy high and the momentum moving forward.
