My grandmother saw them when they were held up in a small hotel in Roanoke Texas. The whole town found out and they left. As they were driving out they were waving at everyone. They waved at my grandmother.

If it helps, here in UK the story is still very strong. There are many discrepancy's of the facts(documents/evidence now released) due to time constrictions. The B.S. of the media machine etc. Same here. Check the history of those times, they were a tiny issue relatively. Bonnie and Clyde were BIG at being one step in front of the system !!! They made fools of the media fools, and were good at it. This is what the story is really about. Young desperate lovers in desperate times. It was cruel to end it this way. I do not stand in judgement of the system which instigated this, we have the same over here to this day!. I wish them peace, God bless them.

9:21 Bonnie and Clyde are said to have aged tremendously when they were on their crime spree and on the run due to the hard living. One man who saw her when he was young said she was an ugly "dried up" old thing.

I think many people from the 1960s until current time, expect someone who looks like Faye Dunaway or Holiday Granger, and when they see pics of Bonnie they perhaps unconsciously make comparisons. Hollywood has made both Bonnie and Clyde unusually beautiful. After all...Clyde was certainly no Warren Beatty, lol!!

The Hargrave's Cafe building is right next door to my doctor's office and I always swing by there whenever I leave. I nearly tossed my cookies that day I came around the corner & saw some clearly insane folk had painted the beautiful original brick exterior BLACK. I don't see how they could know the historical significance of the building and still be ruining it so badly. Good Lord!

The depression ,no jobs….60 years later….would have been different.petrol station mom and pop restaurant ..Henry Barrow was a clever guy..the Bonnie and Clyde burger ..on Route 66…Clyde wasn’t risk averse, he knew all about a petrol station,Bonnie knew all about good food and its presentation,Clyde didn’t mind ripping people off ..Successful drive in Diner formula..right there..

Some writers have opined that Bonnie was not photogenic but that in real life she was very pretty. Some contemporary eyewitness comments rated her appearance in relation to her use of makeup and choice in clothing. A young woman who saw Bonnie in the car being towed into town, was shocked that Bonnie wore a RED dress! Nice women did not use so many cosmetics and apparently did not wear RED dresses.

My mother was around the same age as Bonnie and was raised in the Pacific Northwest. Mom said everyone in town must have been poor but no one knew it because no one had much. There were not so many seeds of envy. Grandad worked hard and managed to provide a college education for all three of his children. Mom graduated with a teaching degree and a minor in mathematics. The first time she applied for a teaching job, she left blank the question about religion. The family was not religious and had no specific affiliation. The woman taking the applications called attention to the omission but mom simply said she had no religion. The application was instantly dumped into the trash can. Mom never worked as a teacher but accomplished a lot in her life.

My point is, there were currents of social controls in those days. Those who crossed certain lines or failed to measure up to the norms could be rejected and marginalized. Society policed itself but there were many downsides such as women who dressed or acted certain ways, deserved whatever happened to them. A Bonnie Parker, wearing lots of makeup and not fearing to wear a RED dress, may well have been labelled with some nasty names.

from the day I was born I was a spitfire. I was small most of my life, and id never pass up defending myself. I would give it as it was given. You hit me, im hitting you. My grandpa's neighbor, said I was a mild version of Bonnie.. As a kid, I was a sweet as pie, but if I got picked on or hit, id make that other kid regret it 😂 as a child, id always love learning about them. They both got dealt a crappy hand..

I've watched and read many biographies in my time (I'm in my 50s).
It seems like men back then either died young or abandoned the family.
There's an assumption that marriages lasted decades back then but not true.
Men dumped their family just as much as they do now.
At least Bonnie didn't have kids with these losers like most women do

I don’t know how often, but they did have a really bad fight in Joplin according to Blanche that might have gotten physical. But it was never one sided. If he got physical she did it right back. I do not get the impression that their relationship was abusive, but again I only have access to second hand accounts so who knows.

Do we? I for one could care less about fashion and the older I get the more I crave my leggings and T-shirts and I know a lot of people like me. It may have meant more to people in the 30s. I do think there was more pressure on people then, in terms of needing to look nice. Women weren’t even really allowed to wear pants. I mean they could, but were probably judged for it. My mother, born in the 50s was required to wear a dress to school. So maybe some of this is generational but no, I don’t think everyone wants to dress nice. Some do and love fashion but others couldn’t care less.

It seems like recently there have been more pictures of Bonnie Parker in my opinion I think she's a very attractive woman. For the longest time it seems like the only pictures available where the ones with her holding a shotgun and a cigar in her mouth those were the only unflattering pictures I've seen. I would give anything to meet her in person without the guns of course
