Hedonistic Me
Born Ruffians Lyrics

I know exactly just what to do
And when I take these winds to home
I know I won't be alone
When I hang my trousers dry
I know it won't just be you and I
Cuz there'll be Ma & Pa & Grandmama
You know I have, I have a knack
For anything that uses my back
And I will work, will work these fields
Cuz it's the only thing, I think, that's real
And when I raise, raise my hands up high
I know it won't just be you and I
Cuz there'll be sun and snow and a horse Jethro
And all the children I have fathered
And I will learn to cook for you
It's one thing that I plan to learn to do
And I will make sweet dandelion wine
And there'll be no search for time
Spend all our lives just having lives
And there'll be no time for any lies
There's just mares-eat-oats
And no more lows
And all the children I have fathered
There'll be Ma & Pa & Grandmama
And all the children I have fathered
The lyrics of Born Ruffians's "Hedonistic Me" capture a sense of longing and comfort in domesticity, which is a refreshing contrast to the typical rockstar lifestyle. The singer speaks of sailing home and knowing exactly what to do when he gets there, symbolizing a sense of direction and purpose in his life. He looks forward to more than just being with his partner, for when he hangs his trousers dry, he's looking forward to the company of Ma & Pa & Grandmama, and all the children he has fathered.
The lyrics speak to a desire for a simple, honest life: working with his back in the fields and enjoying life's simple pleasures. The singer mentions learning to cook and making sweet dandelion wine, painting a picture of someone who cares about creating a comfortable life for those around him. The lines "Spend all our lives just having lives, And there'll be no time for any lies" suggest a feeling of contentment and authenticity that comes with living a life focused on family and loved ones.
Overall, the song is a refreshing take on the rockstar lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of domestic happiness and living a life focused on love and family.
