1) Boss (born as Lichelle Laws, 1969-2014) was a female gangsta rapper whose debut album Born Gangstaz released in 1993 propelled her to one of the most successful female rappers of that time. Her name is sometimes spelled Bo$$.
Boss was first a duo, with Laws as Boss the rapper and her friend Irene Moore as her DJ, Dee. Laws and Moore relocated to Los Angeles after graduating high school. Laws was spotted by DJ Quik who stuck her on a track with AMG. Russell Simmons liked the track and promptly signed her to Def Jam West. Their debut album Born Gangstaz was released in 1993, and the single "Deeper" hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks. The next single "Recipe for a Hoe" also hit #1 on the Rap Tracks chart.
2) Boss is an American female rap artist / singer / videographer & director that was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. BOSS's introduction to music began at a very early age, being the niece of Motown writers and vocalists’ Brenda & Michael Sutton. Her aunt & uncle penned hits for Smokey Robinson ["There Will Come a Day (I'm Gonna Happen to You)"], Cheryl Lynn ("Shake It Up Tonight"), a young Michael Jackson ("Cinderella Stay Awhile") . Most recently, Texas rapper Scarface with special guests Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel sampled The Original track' "Sunrise" (yet another song that her uncle Michael Sutton (co-penned) for the Source Award-winning hip hop hit, "Guess Who's Back. These accomplishments by her relatives inspired her to push hard towards her dream of being an accomplished artist, video / music producer, videographer & music executive herself. BOSS spent a lot of time with her aunt and uncle in their recording studio surrounded by the sounds of music and the strict writing and vocal training sessions that were held by her aunt Brenda, always exposed & dreaming of one day working in the music industry. Thanks to her Aunt & Uncle, along with the help of GOD & her church choir BOSS received her foundation as a musical artist in her youth. During her teen years growing up in Los Angeles she became an intern for the nations 1st all rap radio station, KDAY.
In 1991/1992 BOSS worked as a personal assistant to Nate Dogg of Death Row. As she and Nate became close over the years, he also began to assist in BOSS in her vocal training. This unique training molded her ORIGINAL sultry sound into what it is today!
After trying to break into the music industry as a singer, writer and arranger she finally got the courage to take the reins and start learning to engineer her own recording sessions & produce tracks for her herself. In 1993, BOSS relocated to Texarkana and was given a job by her uncle Ray Bursey @ her family's radio broadcasting station KZRB 1035 FM. She took on a position in Sales/Marketing and Promotions but never let go of her dream to produce and become an artist herself. She became one of the stations top radio personalities as a street scene reporter. After some time behind a desk she became board and decided it was time to try her hand once again at her first love, which was to actually be an artist herself. Only now there was a big difference, she had the knowledge of executive assistance, radio, promotions, marketing, public relations, publishing and music production under her belt.
Taking all of the moving capitol she had accumulated during her time at the family station and invested in her own Mass Media & Marketing Company (Bossy Inc.) Slowly but surely, she began to promote, produce and represent clients outside of her family's radio station, which gave her more flexibility when it came to the other Artists. She also used this gateway to introduce her own style of artistry to the world.
She then ventured deeper into the south to Houston, Texas. It was there that she met her now longtime friend Luscious Ice, one of the DJ's for Houston's 99.7 The Boxx, who in turn introduced her to her mentor/ close friend, Big H.A.W.K. of The Original Screwed Up Click (R.I.P.) who took BOSS under his wing as his Exec. Assist., taught her the one of a kind Houston, Texas Style of industry grind and introduced her to all of Houston's elite in the music industry. Wes Monroe (Momma Wes) of UGK Records also became her mentor and began to teach BOSS the industry game as she knew it. This tactic led to the business union of her student BOSS & her son Chad " Pimp C " Butler of UGK. With their assistance & Big H.A.W.K.'S blessing, Boss began to thrive as a force to be reckoned with as far as female rap artists are concerned. BOSS has a huge passion for acting and I love being in front of the camera. She is currently auditioning for movie roles, commercials & being booked for modeling photo shoots.
"Image and self- acceptance is something that I struggled with as a teen. Lucky enough, I was surrounded by people who have given me great advice to better myself inside & out! My goal is to represent as a woman who has also experienced these concerns as a youth and reach out to young people who are trying to cope with self -love. Each day I remain excited about my choice to expand my horizons, work with new people and most of all to see where my road in the industry will lead to." - BOSS

And word is bond I want you to tell these motherfuckers

Up in Detroit and once again I'm just a few short
Couple of hundred bucks, so fuck the rent
My share of that shit got spent on some Newports
So yankin' many motherfuckers is my new sport
I'm ready to blast and kill for a rap deal
Fuck the landlord and the gas bill, we don't give a fuck
We sickin' shit of livin' shabby
Waited until my cash got right then took a flight to Cali
Off into the night, me and Dee up into mo' hell
Got into some shit befo' we even reached the hotel
Fuck the dumb shit, gotta get rich at the same time
'Cause niggas steady throwin' up they gang sign
No loot, no more palm trees, no more calm breeze
But it's cool, these bitches 'bout to slang ki's
So on my hip goes a pager, ? major
It's two bad behavior bitches that got gangsta flavor
See a punk, kill a punk and then we mug 'em quick
Out to get paid, motherfuck this strugglin' shit
Bullshit's nothin' to a bitch with no emotions
Tell 'em how the fuck you livin', I'm livin? like loc'd
Livin' loc'd, livin', livin' loc'd
Livin' loc'd, bitch niggas get smoked
Livin' loc'd, livin', livin' loc'd

Livin' loc'd, livin', livin' loc'd
Livin' loc'd, bitch niggas get smoked
Livin' loc'd, livin', livin' loc'd
And all the bitch ass niggas can suck my dick
Buck, buck, then I let the trigger loose
Motherfuckers better duck, but it ain't no goddamn duck duck goose
Haven't you heard of this murderous bitch crawlin' slow?
And puttin' lead to the head of my foes on the down low
'Cause all we got we fuckin' tooken it
Got ourselves a buck and now we roll it, fuck footin' it
Cruisin' down the 'shaw, smokin' joints 'cause we blaze weed
Down to [Incomprehensible] spot
Cluckers kickin' in their Daisies 'n shit
'Cause niggas'll never drop the dirt
Do we're layin' niggas on they back
Then actin' like we never even fuckin' knew ya
Unload the clip off in your chest, take a deep breath
Goddamn, what a motherfuckin' bloody mess
Sleepin' on benches, turned us into roguest bitches

Goin' out, don't give a fuck if I get smoked
Yo, at least I'm goin' out loc'd

Ass full of my foot for fuckin' with the butchers

Put you in kill range 'til you feel pain from the trigga, nigga
When gangsta bitches just can't cope
niggas are gettin' smoked nine trey and forever, livin' life loc'd
It's the motherfuckin' Boss
The song "Livin' Loc'd" by Boss delves into the struggles of being broke and struggling to make ends meet while living in Detroit. The lyrics are a product of the realities of the times in which they were written. The song was written during the early '90s when hip-hop was transitioning from gangsta rap to G-funk, leading the way for styles like conscious or alternative rap to emerge, looking at social and economic issues more critically.
The song's first verse provides a glimpse into the desperation that comes from being broke and unable to pay rent. The singer resorts to taking drugs like Newports to cope with his state. He also states his intentions to kill for a record deal and fly down to California to escape his troubles. The second verse highlights the dangerous life that Boss and her friend Dee led. They did drugs and jumped fences to evade the feds, always on the edge, wondering when their next meal would come.
The song paints a picture of a world of violence, deprivation and desperation. A way of life whereby violence and crime seem the only way out of poverty. Yet, it also simultaneously criticizes such a lifestyle as futile, with a lack of emotions and substance. The hook repeatedly states, "Livin' loc'd, bitch niggas get smoked," suggesting that living this way is a dead-end lifestyle.
