Zijn stem klinkt als een klok en de sympathieke zanger kan bouwen op een grote schare fans. Bouke zingt goudeerlijke pop, ingetogen ballads en het Nederlandse lied. Met zijn hitsingle Kom Maar Kom Maar, de eerste single bij CNR en de opvolger van het pakkende Ik wil je maakt Bouke naam. Een hit, aldus de kenners. Het was de voorloper van zijn splinternieuwe album dat in oktober 2006 van de persen rolde. Begin februari 2007 verscheen de titelsong van het album Alles wat ik doe op single.

Bouke zingt altijd. Ook die bewuste donderdagavond, na afloop van de training in de kleedkamer van voetbalvereniging W.K.E. Het bleef niet onopgemerkt. Drie dagen later stond Bouke in de spotlights voor de mensen van zijn vereniging. Vader Jochem, zelf muzikant, was trots. Bouke genoot zichtbaar.

Snel volgden optredens in café’s, feesttenten en zalen. Zijn eerste single Ik voel me goed, zijn albums en DVD Dit is Liefde bleken een schot in de roos. Singles als Zeven Dagen Zeven Nachten, Eenzaam is de nacht zonder Jou en het uitnodigende Chica Chica volgden elkaar in razend tempo op.

Begin december 2005 tekende Bouke bij CNR Entertainment. Zijn eerste (kerst)single op het nieuwe label Merry Christmas to everyone haalde een top 30 notering in de Mega Top 100. Zijn eerste Nederlandstalige single, het door Willem Gunneman geschreven Ik Wil Je, met als tweede track het pop-getinte Je zit in mijn Hoofd, is Bouke’s eerste echte visitekaartje op het nieuwe label.

Het is A&R Manager Paul Zijlstra (onder meer Guus Meeuwis en Marco Borsato) die Bouke in contact brengt met producer Bas van den Heuvel (o.a. Rene Froger, Gordon & Replay en Total Touch). In de Soundwise Studio’s van Fluitsma en Van Tijn legt Bouke de basis voor zijn nieuwe album en ontpopt Bouke zich meer en meer tot een multitalent. Niemand minder dan Jacques van Eijck levert een track voor het nu reeds spraakmakende debuutalbum en samen met Willem Gunneman schrijft Bouke het leeuwendeel van de nummers. Een album met stevige popsongs als Kom Maar Kom Maar en Totaal op Tilt en goudeerlijke ballads als Voorlopig wil ik eventjes alleen zijn. Een bloedmooi liedje.

De eerste single Kom Maar Kom Maar, de voorloper van het nieuwe album, verscheen op 12 september 2006. Nu al zijn de eerste televisie- en radio-optredens een feit en sluiten de programmamakers en schrijvende pers Bouke in hun armen. Kom Maar Kom Maar blijkt een dijk van een opvolger van het pakkende Ik wil je. Eind februari 2007 verscheen de derde single van het album. Het wordt de titelsong Alles wat ik Doe. Het nummer wordt tevens gekozen als titel van het live-concert dat Bouke, begeleidt door een spetterende liveband, op 7 april 2007 geeft in de Giraf te Emmen. Als bonustrack op de nieuwe single de videoclip van Kom Maar Kom Maar. Daarnaast ontvouwen verschillende omroepen hun plannen voor een documentaire rond de sympathieke Drentse zanger.
