War Is Over
Boy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So this is Christmas and what have you done,
Another year over, a new one just begun.

And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun,
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fears.

And so this is Christmas for weak and for strong,
The rich and the poor ones, the road is so long.

And so happy Christmas for black and for white
For the yellow and red ones let's stop all the fights.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.

And so this is Christmas and what have we done
Another year over, a new one just begun.

And so happy Christmas we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones, the old and the young.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.

War is over if you want it, war is over now.

Here stands a man
At the bottom of a hole he's made
Still sweating from the rush
His body tense
His hands, they shake
Oh this, this is a mad boy

Here stands a man
With a bullet in his clenched right hand
Don't push him, son
For he's got the power to crush this land
Oh hear, hear him cry, boy

Don't you ever leave me alone
My war is over
Be my shelter from the storm
My war is over
I am a sad boy

Here stands a man
At the bottom of a hole he's made
Still sweating from the rush
His body tense
His hands, they shake
Oh this, this is a mad boy

Here stands a man
With a bullet in his clenched right hand
But don't push him, son
For he's got the power to crush this land
Oh hear, hear him cry, boy

Don't you ever leave me alone
My war is over
Be my shelter from the storm
My war is over
I am a sad boy

Don't you ever leave me alone
Be my shelter from the storm
My war is over
I am a sad boy

My name is Uri, and I'm glad I met this track.
But what I feel its something a little bit different.
It's like, life follows me, looks for me, wants to give me a chance, but I look confused, I was running away, but at the end I know that I will be judged in some way for my actions, or indifference.
I'm not trying to justify anything, but I feel alone and isolated.
And of that opportunity, looking for a morning to happen as a miracle almost.
But at the same time I know that only by moving forward I can realize myself, when we understand each other, but I am still afraid, an inevitable feeling, like a rocking chair, that does not take me anywhere, but in the end I must be stronger than my fears.
And have the virtue, of knowing how to wait.
I hardly even react, they spit on my life, and she yelling at me tells me not to give up.
Because if it has to be, the absolute will be.

Congratulations, this song is a masterpiece.

The War is about being okay admitting we want someone to love us in the way we wish we could love ourselves.

i think its cool that you let people infer the meaning and then telling them

@TheGrafton12

Well said, as OFTEN it's harder for us to love ourselves as well as someone else can. We often struggle with feeling worthy of this love to give it to ourselves.
