Trials
Boyo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Its morning
but I'll stay and I won't let the sun in
Building up the strength for our next run-in
You only come around when you need something
I've got nothin'
Aching
hate the song but I won't change the station
Want me gone but hate that conversation
I'll move on the day we stop debating

It's all too muchfor you its just some training

Overall Meaning

In the song Trials, Boyo talks about the pain and frustration that come with a toxic relationship. The opening line "It's morning, but I'll stay and I won't let the sun in" shows that even though the sun has risen, Boyo has decided to stay in bed and avoid facing the world. He's building up his strength for another encounter with his partner, who only comes around when they need something from him. Despite feeling like he's got nothing left to give, Boyo remains in the relationship, indicating his attachment despite the pain.

The second verse reveals the underlying tension that exists between the two. Boyo is tired of playing the game, but his partner wants him gone while still wanting to have conversations. He's willing to move on, but his partner views it as "just some training". It's a sobering sentiment, indicating that Boyo's partner has no emotional investment in the relationship and is willing to use him as a pawn in their game.

Overall, Trials is a powerful song about the complexities of relationships and the emotional toll they can take. It's a relatable theme that resonates with many listeners who have been in toxic relationships.

He seems like a great kid
I recall when I first heard about him on Annie Elise
Our family would adopt him in a heartbeat
We. Have a big family lots of boys
Three generations all connected and adopted kids within our brood

I don’t know how to contact to help

Maybe I’ll email prosecution?
I’m totally serious we have the love resources and educational opportunities for another young man ❤

There's definitely something else going on besides a father's abuse of a child.
The whole control and abuse thing is very troublesome.

The defendant reminds me of my ex who's a covert narcissist..His appearance, his lack of emotion, the cold, dark intimidating stares.
Covert narcissists have an insacious need to control, over the top control, mostly in hurtful, cruel ways.
They prey on the most vunerable.

In relationships, or in families, covert narcs seek out those they see as weak, so they'll be easier to verbally abuse.
It's not being strict, or having a bad day here and there, it's constant, sustained verbal abuse.
This is how they operate.
They don't physically abuse because they'll be evidence of their physical, destructive behavior.
It's verbal and over a period of time, it can cause psychological damage to their targets.
Adopting a baby or a child would be a perfect choice of a covert narcissist because they see those as underprivileged, vunerable, etc, hence they are easy to manipulate and abuse.
They hide their inner feelings, but underneath their perfect image, is a heartless monster.

My opinion, but from what I have heard this far about this story, there are similarities of the defendants behavior and covert narcissist behavior.
Without knowing the family dynamics, if this is true, the spouse is sometimes oblivious to covert narcissists, what their intentions are and what they're actually capable of doing and why.

He sure does.
Staring at his son to intimidate him.
Probably the same face he had when abusing his son.
Disgusting

This monster needs to be held accountable for abusing his son.
If it's ok to live like that one should ask the father how he lived at the same age.
I bet it wasn't the same as how he locked his son up.

I can't understand how parents think it's ok to abuse their kids and think it's ok to do the things this monster did to his son.

@Janet Studdard, silly? Are you serious? Do you not get that this boy was imprisoned? He was locked up like a criminal. He wasn't even allowed to use the bathroom like the rest of the family. I hope these 2 people get the maximum sentence. And that their fellow inmates find out what they did and hand out their own kind of justice.

Annie

@Janet StuddardAre those your kids or grandkids in the photo?!?! I feel sorry for those children.

Annie

@Mary DunganAgreed 💯%

I’m not saying these parents are right, but we don’t know the kinds of behaviors they had to deal with. I think basically making him stay in the box for extended periods of time deplorable. Either way you sanctimonious people that commented to my comment are the reason innocent people are in prison.
