Mantrum
Boys World Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah
He blew my phone up at a party
Thinkin′ I'll leave it with anybody
Your apologies are overdue (mm-mm)
I blocked your number, who are you?

And I won′t lie, I always knew you'd come around (around, around)
The jokes on you, 'cause I′m the one who′s laughing now

Who's sorry, sorry? Who′s sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, I ain't your mama, pull your pants up
′Cause I'm so sick and tired of these mantrums
Who′s sorry, sorry? Who's sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, I ain't your mama, pull your pants up (pull your pants up)
I′m so sick and tired of these mantrums

Don′t get it twisted
You're steady tweeting on your feed like I′m the villain (I'm the villain)
Boy, we finished, don′t make me talk about the times I never finished
We talkin' minutes? Girl, wait a minute

Huh, yeah
Always kept it a hunnid, birthday cake out the oven
Anything that he wanted, turns out I was dummin′
Back then, I can't lie, your girl was strugglin' (strugglin′)
Now, I′m waking up like a brand-new woman

And I won't lie, I always knew you′d come around (around, around)
The jokes on you 'cause I′m the one who's laughing now, yeah

Who′s sorry, sorry? Who's sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, ain't your mama, pull your pants up
′Cause I′m so sick and tired of these mantrums
Who's sorry, sorry? Who′s sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, ain't your mama, pull your pants up
′Cause I'm so sick and tired of these mantrums

Part of me still loves you
But mostly I′m just thankful

Who's sorry, sorry? Who's sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, ain′t your mama, pull your pants up
′Cause I'm so sick and tired of these mantrums (I′m so sick and tired of the mantrums)
Who's sorry, sorry? Who′s sorry, sorry now?
La da-di da-di, la da-di, ha-ha
Boy, ain't your mama, pull your pants up (I ain′t your mama)
'Cause I'm so (yeah) sick and tired of these mantrums

Come on, let me see ′em hands up (let me see ′em, let me see 'em)
If you′re sick and tired of mantrums (if you're tired)
If he calls, don′t give no time a day (no time a day)

If you're sick and tired of mantrums
I′m so sick and tired of these mantrums

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Mantrum" by Boys World address themes of empowerment, self-worth, and the refusal to tolerate toxic behavior in relationships. In the first paragraph, the singer describes how someone relentlessly tried to contact them at a party, assuming they would leave their phone with anyone. The singer declares that they have blocked the person's number and questions their identity. They express a sense of vindication and amusement because they knew all along that the person would eventually come crawling back.

The chorus emphasizes the singer's independence and refusal to be manipulated. They mockingly ask who is sorry now and assert that they are not the person's mother, urging them to pull up their pants and mature. The use of the term "mantrums" suggests that the person is prone to childish and immature behavior, further highlighting their unwillingness to tolerate it any longer.

In the second paragraph, the singer responds to the person's attempts to villainize them on social media. They assert that their relationship is over and threaten to expose the person's shortcomings. The lyric "don't make me talk about the times I never finished" implies that the person failed to fulfill their promises or commitments. The lyric "we talkin' minutes? Girl, wait a minute" could mean that the singer wants the person to pause and reflect on their actions before making accusations.

The third paragraph brings a shift in perspective, as a different member of Boys World takes the lead. They describe a past where they admit to struggling while being in a relationship with the person. However, they emphasize personal growth and awakening, suggesting that they have moved on and become a stronger person as a result. They also reveal that they always knew the person would come back, indicating that they were confident in their worth and eventual triumph.

In the final chorus, the singer reiterates their refusal to tolerate the person's behavior. They express gratitude for the growth they have experienced and admit that a part of them still loves the person. However, they firmly state that they are sick and tired of the mantrums, reinforcing their decision to prioritize their own well-being over a toxic relationship.

Overall, the lyrics of "Mantrum" convey a message of empowerment, asserting the importance of self-respect and setting boundaries. The song encourages listeners to stand up against manipulative behavior and embrace their own strength and growth.

I need their label to work on a stronger social media presence. You can't drop bangers then disappear. They need to be consistent to have steady growth! Do some yt shorts, interviews, challenges, live performances and so on. Their presence has to be strong! Consistently utilizing social media takes time and very little to no money, so the label not having money is a poor excuse.

@samaraangeline5779

I hope they get signed to a better label :/

@choloyolo8522

I just think they don’t have the money to support them…and I’m being honest…Western Pop Groups aren’t doing so well in general right now it’s all about K-Pop groups like BLACKPINK
