On April 21, 2017, Murphy released his first single on Sony, "All the Wrong Things." Murphy says about the song, "…I write songs about what it’s like to be human – my own brand of ‘conscious pop’. We are all complex people. We have struggles. We have contradictions. We have deep desires. We are all seeking to be loved, understood and satisfied. My songs attempt to capture those deep emotional, even spiritual, yearnings we have as human beings. The bottom line is that I want to make great art, but most of all I want to be honest. I want to sing about what people are really going through…".[3] The song featured Grammy Award nominee Koryn Hawthorne.[4]
On September 22nd, 2017 Murphy released his second single "Enough" with producer JordanSapp.[5]
Murphy's third single, "Talk About It" was released March 16, 2018, peaking at #37 on the Billboard Airplay Chart[6].
Talk About It

We don't talk about it, we don't talk about it
Bite my tongue, it's like we're suffocating love
We don't talk about it, we don't talk about it
Truth be told, there's so much hope that needs to be heard
But no one says a word, it's time we
We've been dancing all around this for too long, let's
Talk about it
We ain't going nowhere till we work this out
Oh, woah, woah, oh, woah, woah
Oh, woah, woah, talk about it
Black and white, there's so much more than what meets the eye
If we just talk about it, can we talk about it?
Free to speak, the price was paid for you and me to talk about it
So let's talk about it, ah
Truth be told, there's so much hope that needs to be heard
But no one says a word, it's time we
Talk about it
We've been dancing all around this for too long, let's
Talk about it
We ain't going nowhere till we work this out
Oh, woah, woah, oh, woah, woah
Oh, woah, woah, talk about it
Oh, woah, woah, oh, woah, woah
Oh, woah, woah, talk about it
We're going 'round in circles
Speak up and break the silence
We're going 'round in circles
Speak up and break the silence
Things will never change (we're going 'round in circles)
They'll never change until we talk about it (speak up and break the silence)
Things will never change (we're going 'round in circles)
They'll never change until we talk about it (speak up and break the silence)
Oh, can we talk? Can we talk?
Can we talk? Oh
Talk about it (can we talk about it?)
We've been dancing all around this for too long, let's (we've been dancing far too long, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Talk about it
We ain't going nowhere till we work this out
Oh, woah, woah, oh, woah, woah
Oh, woah, woah, talk about it (can we talk, can we talk, can we talk about it?)
Oh, woah, woah, oh, woah, woah
Oh, woah, woah, talk about it
We're going 'round in circles
Speak up and break the silence
We're going 'round in circles
Speak up and break the silence
We're going 'round in circles
Speak up and break the silence
We're going 'round in circles (things will never change, they'll never change)
Speak up and break the silence (until we talk about it)
The song "Talk About It" by Branan Murphy is about the importance of communication in a relationship. Murphy talks about how many people do not address the issues that are affecting their relationships and instead, they avoid talking about the problems altogether. The use of elephants as a metaphor exemplifies how the weight of the unspoken issues is becoming unbearable. Murphy believes there is so much hope that needs to be heard, and the only way this hope can be expressed is by openly talking about the problems.
Murphy wants to encourage his audience to start talking about their issues, to break the silence and work towards a solution. He believes that nothing will change until the silence is broken and conversations about the issues making one go in circles are initiated. He encourages free speech and speaks of the price paid for this freedom, emphasizing how important it is to speak up and talk about the problems affecting the relationship.

"Free to speak, The price was paid, For you and me to talk about it, So let's talk about it"
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS:
I'm saying this in 2020. When we have now had a pandemic, African Americans are finally stepping up to speak about equality for the different races. This year has started off pretty tough. It's been hard to stay at home, when people in families are getting sick. When different races are not being treated equally. When LGBTQ's are being treated differently. I will say this. I don't believe LGBTQ is right, according to the Bible. But I don't discriminate against them for it because the Bible says in 1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God." We need to love everyone no matter their differences in color, maybe the way their brain works, who they like, etc. Maybe we disagree with some of the things they say or do or believe in. But this is not a valid reason to discriminate against them. If no one talks about these things, what is the rest of the world going to do? How are Christians going to fulfill the job we were sent out to do? In another song I've listened to called "Let It Be Love" by Unspoken. This song talks about how the world should see us as Christians. In part of the song it says
"We've taken the truth
And made it a weapon
How easy we forget
What drew and pulled us in
It was not pointed fingers
Or proving me wrong
That called and convicted
Me to come home
But kindness brought repentance
Freedom and forgiveness
Oh, children"
and in another part:
"'Speaking the truth means nothing
Without love, love, love
'Cause no one's gonna hear us
If we keep throwing stones
If we're gonna be known for something
Let it be love "
God want's us to be known for loving others no matter what, but we sometimes do the opposite when trying to help people, or tell them our opinion on a certain matter. As Jesus says in Matthew 28: 19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” I would like to highlight the fact he says "OF ALL NATIONS". What does this phrase mean to you? Think about it.
