Help!
Brandon Lake Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

My mind feels like a circus
Tamin' tigers, flamin' torches
I can't deal with my own conscience
The truth and lies entangled
Dodging arrows at every angle
Why does life feel like a jungle?

Come take this weight off my chest
Come put this chaos to rest
I think I'm losing my mind

(Help! Help!)
When the panic attacks
And I've got my back up against the wall
(Help! Help!)
Come and invade the fear and the flames
Hear me when I call
(Help)
(Help!)

My faith gives way to crisis
What, when, who will help me fight this?
Hear me screamin' through the sirens
(Help)
And I feel it gettin' stronger
It's Your voice that gives me power
One by one, those demons cry for

Help! (Help!)
Help! (Help!)
When the panic attacks
And I've got my back up against the wall
(Help! Help!)
Come and invade the fear and the flames
Hear me when I call

I lift my eyes up to the skies
Where does my help come from?
My one defense
My truest friend
Where does my help come from?

I lift my eyes up to the skies
Where does my help come from?
My one defense
My truest friend
Where does my help come from?

Help! (Help!)
Help! (Help!)
When the panic attacks
And I've got my back up against the wall
Help! (Help!)
Help! (Help!)
Come and invade the fear and the flames
Hear me when I call

(Help!) Help!
(Help!) Help!
When the panic attacks
And I've got my back up against the wall
Help! (Help!)
Help! (Help!)
Come and invade the fear and the flames

Hear me when I call
(Help)

Overall Meaning

In "HELP!" by Brandon Lake, the lyrics paint a vivid picture of a person who is struggling with their own thoughts and emotions, comparing their mind to a chaotic circus. The line "My mind feels like a circus" suggests that their thoughts are uncontrollable and overwhelming, much like tigers and flaming torches in a circus act. The phrase "I can't deal with my own conscience" implies a battle within oneself, possibly between truth and lies or right and wrong.

The line "Dodging arrows at every angle, why does life feel like a jungle?" expresses the feeling of constantly being under attack, facing challenges and obstacles from all directions. This creates a sense of confusion and frustration, as if life is an unpredictable and unforgiving jungle.

The repeated plea for help throughout the song reflects the desperate cry for assistance in navigating through these struggles. The line "Come take this weight off my chest, come put this chaos to rest" reveals a desire for someone or something external to bring relief and restore order in the midst of confusion and mental turmoil.

The chorus "When the panic attacks and I've got my back up against the wall, come and invade the fear and the flames, hear me when I call" highlights the experience of panic and feeling trapped with no way out. The invocation for help to invade the fear and flames suggests an intense need for an external force to intervene and rescue them from their distress.

The lyrics also touch on the theme of faith and reliance on a higher power for support. The lines "I lift my eyes up to the skies, where does my help come from? My one defense, my truest friend" demonstrate the singer's acknowledgment that their ultimate help and strength come from a spiritual source.

Overall, the song "HELP!" by Brandon Lake captures the introspective struggles of an individual wrestling with their own thoughts, seeking guidance and solace, and understanding that sometimes our greatest help comes from looking beyond ourselves.

My first time playing this song was through a Bible Plan "Help" (YouVersion) after losing my first baby. I was shuttered, felt pinned to the corner by guilt and feeling I'd failed the baby, it was all overwhelming. I was not okay really untill playing this song. I felt so relieved knowing I'm not alone in this...I shouted HELP and I found my help through this song. God bless

Let me tell you, I heard this song for the first time when I was in a jail cell and I gotta say it helped me get through those hard times that I was facing. Brandon Lake and many members from Elevation Church have really inspired me. I have received my Ministry Ordination and its all because of the inspiration of their music and the sermons from Pastor Steven Furtick and the other Ministers with Elevation Church. Thank you Brandon Lake for the inspiration. Keep up the amazing work brother! God is truly using you as David to share his word and inspire many in his name! Bless you and your followers!

Praise the Lord, Amen!

Me too. Truly spending time reading the Word maybe pick a scripture, talk about it with someone else, ask God what it means. He will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind stayed on Him. Medicine also helps, rest, working on your self esteem and confidence

@Destini-vj7el

Yes amen!

Hallelujah for your testimony in progress. I had panic attacks and postpartum anxiety that led to psychosomatic seizures. I’ve been depressed. Only Jesus heals me. But at johns wort and CBD and sun and water and gardening HELP. Magnesium and zinc and a heavy metal detox spray will help. God Bless you every day in Jesus Name βœŒπŸΎβ€οΈπŸ––πŸΎπŸ©Έ
