The lyrics of Brandy's song "Can We" describe the difficulties and challenges of a relationship but also express a strong desire to make it work. The singer admits that they may not have everything that their partner desires, but their love is true and they are willing to work through the problems. The chorus repeatedly asks if they can figure it out, talk it out, and work it out together. The verses provide examples of the issues they face, including the singer's occasional mood swings and unfiltered speech, but they promise to always love their partner.
The lyrics are a plea to stay committed to each other despite the challenges. The singer uses the repeated question "Can we?" as a way to ask their partner if they are willing to work through the difficulties and stay together. They also express a willingness to change and improve themselves for their partner. The chorus, in particular, emphasizes the importance of communication and honest conversation as crucial tools to work through the problems in the relationship.
Overall, Brandy's "Can We" is a song about the ups and downs of a relationship, but also a testament to the power of love and commitment to overcome those difficulties. The lyrics show vulnerability, honesty, and willingness to change, all things that are important for a successful relationship.
