It's just that tonight
I am so taken, I'm fallin' for you
When I look in your eyes, I can see a million possibilities
And I know you'll be leaving me soon
But tonight
Come a little bit closer (closer)
I will be good to you
And we can try to forget tomorrow
And make it last forever tonight
So if you must go
Know that I'll be missing you, wishing you closer, wow
So let's make the most of these moments together, we'll never forget
And it's breaking my heart 'cause I know
That tomorrow you'll be miles away
And I catch myself wanting so much more
Tonight
Come closer
Come a little bit closer (a little bit closer)
Let me hold you, baby (hold you, baby)
I will be good to you (good to you)
And we can try (we can try)
To forget tomorrow (tomorrow)
And make it last forever tonight (make it last, yeah, forever tonight)
So if you're leaving me now
Baby, I don't know how
I will ever get over you
Because you opened my eyes
To this love that's inside
Oh baby, baby, don't ever, leave me (yea)
Come a little bit closer (a little bit closer)
Let me hold you, baby (hold you, baby)
I will be good to you (good to you)
And we can try (we can try)
To forget tomorrow (tomorrow)
And make it last forever tonight (make it last, I need you in my life wow)
Come a little bit closer
Let me hold you, baby (I need you with me)
I will be good to you (let me)
And we can try (we can try)
To forget tomorrow (to forget tomorrow)
And make it last forever tonight (make it last tonight) oh
Come a little bit closer (a little bit closer)
Let me hold you, baby (hold you, baby)
I will be good to you (hold you, baby)
And we can try (we can try)
To forget tomorrow
And make it last forever tonight (make it last tonight)
Come a little bit closer (a little bit closer)
Let me hold you, baby (oh, let me hold you, baby)
I will be good to you
And we can try (we can)
To forget tomorrow (oh)
And make it last forever tonight (make it last)
In Brandy's song "Come A Little Closer", the singer is expressing her feelings for someone she knows she shouldn't be involved with. She acknowledges the potential consequences of their actions, yet she can't help but be drawn to this person. The lyrics are emotional and vulnerable, as the singer is admitting her feelings and desires in a moment of weakness. The chorus emphasizes the temporary nature of their relationship and the desire to make the most of the time they have together. It speaks to the idea of living in the present, rather than worrying about what may come in the future. The song ends with the singer pleading with the person not to leave her, desperate to hold onto the love that has been kindled between them.
The lyrics of "Come A Little Closer" resonate with many listeners who have found themselves in similar situations. The idea of falling for someone who we know we shouldn't be with is a universal experience. The song captures the essence of that emotion, the overwhelming desire to be close to someone despite the potential pain that may come later. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and cherishing the time we have with the people we love.
