Where you've never been, never been
Making sweet love where the water falls, water falls
All over us at the perfect temperature
The sky so sunny
Do you hear, do you hear
The violins playing
If you listen close, you can hear them saying
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
Fire, fire, candle, candle, I burn
Just enough to make it hot
I don't wanna shoot between the moon
I wanna shoot you there first
Take off
All my clothes in exchange for you
Saying sexy words in Spanish yo quiero tu
Yeah baby boy you're so mannish
So go and lay your head back
Let me blow this on for you
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
Bombs bursting everywhere
All over my body
Free to admit
I didn't have some good
But never like this
You're so romantic sometimes
You run away with my mind
And what I get to you
They'll never know
They'll never know
I''m your nurse, your masseuse
I'm your chef, cook for you
Guess what else I've got
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
Baby I got what you need, baby I got what you need
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, in your favorite position
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
I'll be in the kitchen, come, come, come and get me
In the chorus of Brandy's song "What You Need," the singer talks about how she can satisfy her partner's physical desires. She promises to take him on a journey he has never been on before and make sweet love where the water falls all over them at the perfect temperature. Brandy uses imagery when she says "The sky so sunny, do you hear, do you hear the violins playing? If you listen close, you can hear them saying that my eyes and my lips got something that they both wanna do to you." This suggests that Brandy's partner is physically and emotionally attracted to her; her very presence incites him.
Further into the song, Brandy describes how she will be in the kitchen in her partner's favorite position. She'll speak sexy words in Spanish, and he'll lay his head back while she blows on him. She then adds that she will be her partner's nurse, masseuse, and cook. The song also uses metaphor and simile when Brandy compares herself to a bomb bursting everywhere all over her body. This could suggest she has an intense physical reaction to her partner.
Overall, the song is a declaration of Brandy's devotion to her partner and promises to satisfy his physical and emotional needs.
