Get Me High
Brasko Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I spend my nights in american comparison
outside the walls of imaginations Vatican
tell me who ya wanna be
tell me whatcha wanna do
on my knees you know i'm begging you

oh my god oh my god i'm so high
you get me high
higher than I've ever been
never coming down again
you know I can handle it
when I feel that serotonin

ooo baby I'm addicted to
the chronic pain that you put me through so
tell me what ya wanna do
tell me how you want it please
I am the temple for your fantasies

oh my god oh my god i'm so high

you get me high
higher than I've ever been
never coming down again

you know I can handle it
when I feel that serotonin

Overall Meaning

In Brasko's song "Get Me High," the lyrics depict a seductive and addictive relationship that takes the singer to new heights of euphoria. The first verse describes the singer's nights spent in an "American comparison," which can be interpreted as a metaphor for seeking validation and comparison to the perceived glamour and excitement of American culture. They feel like they are outside the walls of their own imagination, implying a desire to escape from their mundane reality. The mention of the "Vatican of imagination" suggests that they are yearning for something grand and transformative.

The chorus emphasizes the intoxicating effect this relationship has on the singer. They express feeling higher than they've ever been before and being unable to come back down from this ecstatic state. The mention of begging on their knees indicates a sense of submission and vulnerability to their partner.

In the second verse, the singer reveals their addiction to the "chronic pain" caused by their partner. This could symbolize the emotional turmoil and intensity of the relationship, which they find strangely exhilarating. They ask their partner to guide them in their desires and fantasies, positioning themselves as a temple, ready to fulfill their partner's every whim.

Overall, "Get Me High" explores the theme of intensity and addiction in a toxic relationship. It portrays the singer's willingness to surrender themselves to this emotional rollercoaster, finding ecstasy in the pain and pleasure inflicted by their partner.

Probably one of the best scenes in Donnie Brasco . Not to mention some of the best acting in history Al Pacino and Johnny Depp

No one else could have played the role of Leftie better than Al Pacino

Gregory Williams

You know, i go back and forth between him and bobby d, as to who is the better actor. I have finally come to rest on my decision that it goes to Al. Phenomenal movie, and superb acting by Al. This is the movie that pushed Al to the forefront for me, and i have seen ALL OF THEIR MOVIES!! Even the non gangster ones.

@ Za. I completely agree without question. Pacino embodied him.
