Hey Jude
Brave Combo; Tiny Tim Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Hey, Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better.

And any time you feel the pain, hey, Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
Well don't you know that its a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder

Hey, Jude! Don't let her down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember, to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better.

So let it out and let it in, hey, Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey, Jude,
You'll do, the movement you need is on your shoulder

Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better

Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Hey Jude are a powerful combination of empathy, encouragement, and guidance. The singer is trying to boost Jude's morale and give him the strength to overcome the challenges that he is facing. The five verses of the song convey a clear message that the best way to deal with pain, anxiety, and disappointment is to face them head-on, with an open heart and a positive attitude. The song starts with a plea from the singer to Jude not to make things worse than they already are. Instead, he urges Jude to take a sad song and turn it into a positive force.

The second verse offers further encouragement and advice to Jude. The singer reminds him that he was created for a purpose and that he must go out and find the person he is meant to be with. The third verse is perhaps the most touching as it suggests that sadness and pain are a part of life, but they can be overcome if we let love into our hearts. The fourth verse reminds us that negative emotions can be overwhelming, and we must not let them consume us. We should instead embrace the positive and let it serve as a beacon of hope. Finally, the last verse urges Jude to let his emotions out and not be afraid to express himself fully.

Overall, the lyrics of Hey Jude are a powerful testament to the power of love and human resilience. They are a comforting reminder that no matter how dark things may seem, there is always a way out, and that love and positivity can overcome any obstacle.

Got this piece of art on CD, so there's a possibility of someone playing this at my funeral.

Dave Costa

Amazing cover, fun as I expected from TT. I love all the great (and not so great;) covers you have posted, thank you so much for the effort! I'm into covers as well so I appreciate it. Keep up the good work:)

CocoGras

this is the best cover of hey jude I've ever heard.

rockweedgirl

Occasionally I was sure I was hearing the great and immortal Janis Joplin. In any case, what a treat. There's gonna be a Tiny Tim renaissance, like with so many painters and poets and writers who have little success in their lives, but generations after their deaths finally get the appreciation their genius deserves.

helikestv

remember hearing this on howard stern when they did a tribute show to tiny after he died. awesome to hear the whole thing after all these years

Tiny giving this tune the respect it deserves

Mpoconnor7

The best part of the song is the first 30 seconds or so. I'm guessing the surviving Beatles were aghast at what Tiny did to their song, but I imagine Yoko probably enjoyed it.

Snagglefratz

Mpoconnor7 LOL

I can say with almost 100% certainty George would have enjoyed this
