Not much is known about Brendon. He had released a single ' Make Me A Dollar , Make Me A Dime ' on Johnathon King's UK label in 1974, which sold poorly. A version of ' How Can You Mend A Broken Heart ' was released as the follow up to ' Gimme Some' but flopped.
It seems his full name was Brendon Dunning and he might have been from Andover. Apart from that I couldn't tell you.

The song "Gimme Some" by Brendon is a classic soul track that talks about the singer's desire for love and affection. The repetition of the phrase "gimme some" throughout the song shows how the singer craves love from his partner. The chorus is the most catchy part of the song and is repeated several times to emphasize the intense desire of the singer for love. The line "I need me some sugar, and your love is sweet" is a metaphor that compares love to sugar, a sweet substance that makes life enjoyable. The singer feels incomplete without his partner's love and wants to receive it every day.
In the second verse, the singer thanks his partner for her sweet love, which he needs in every way. The phrase "Go on" is used to encourage the partner to continue giving him love, which he desires so much. The ad-lib vocals in the song show the singer's passion for love and his yearning for it. The song ends on a fading note, indicating that the singer's desire for love is never-ending.
