minute by minute
that's how we're living
Brett Dennen's "Day By Day" is a powerful, introspective song that explores the concept of time and the way we live our lives. The song's opening lines, "Day by day, minute by minute," set the tone for the entire piece, reminding us that each moment we have is precious and fleeting. As the song continues, Dennen urges us to slow down and appreciate the beauty in small, everyday moments, instead of constantly chasing after something greater.
Dennen's lyrics are full of vivid imagery and metaphors, painting a picture of a world that is both beautiful and fragile. He sings about the changing seasons, the rising sun, and the passing of time, all the while reminding us that we are all just small parts of a larger, constantly-evolving universe. By the end of the song, Dennen's message is clear: we must cherish every moment we have, because we never know when our time will run out.
