McComas later attended college, but soon dropped out to move to Nashville, Tennessee. McComas briefly signed to Mercury Records, before he landed a deal with Lyric Street in 2001, charting the singles "Night Disappear With You" and "I Could Never Love You Enough". In 2003, he landed his first Top 10, "99.9% Sure (I've Never Been Here Before)" and the follow up "You're in My Head", a #21 hit on the country charts. Another single for Lyric Street, "The Middle of Nowhere", fell short of the Top 40, and Lyric Street dropped him not long afterward. He later signed to Katapult Records, where he released Back Up Again, his second album.

Everybody's sayin' it's a hot time
Heading downtown
To mess around for the whole night
Oh, but I don't want to go nowhere
I just want to stay right here with you, with you
Let you save me from the places
That I tend to go
Well, let me sit right here
And watch the night disappear with you
Oh, well everybody's talkin'
Everybody's sayin' that it's gonna be fun
It's a place to be
If you want to go and see everyone
No, but I don't want to go nowhere
I just want to stay right here with you, with you
Let you save me from the places
That I tend to go
There ain't nothing I would rather do
Well, let me sit right here
And watch the night disappear with you
I'm gonna let you save me from the places
That I tend to go
There ain't nothing I would rather do
Well, let me sit right here
And watch the night disappear with you
The song "Night Disappear With You" by Brian McComas is an anthem to romantic contentment. As the opening lines suggest, everyone is heading downtown to party and have a good time, but the singer has no interest in joining them. He only wants to stay right where he is with his lover, who he believes has the power to save him from his usual haunts. The singer is comfortable in his own skin and does not feel compelled to keep up with others who are chasing a supposed good time.
The chorus repeats the sentiment that the singer does not want to be anywhere else but with their partner. They ask to be saved from the places they tend to go, indicating that perhaps they have a more self-destructive side that is tempered by their partner's presence. The night is not important as long as they are together watching it disappear. This song is a declaration of a relationship that carries the singer through the rough patches of life. The couple is each other's support system rather than having to rely on external distractions.
