The buzz is on the streets and spreading. After an intensive production session with a producer Antto Tuomainen, the 5 piece released The Dead City Song EP in August 2005 and created a massive stir among the audience and the press after gaining heavy rotation on a national radio station.
The hype resulted in a partnership with a respected record label Helsinki Music Company. Debut single 1989 was released January ‘06 and gained interest in the music media and on the radio. Same thing happend with Vanity Fair single, released May 06 and the Finnish media is waiting for brightboy’s debut album Love For The Streets on their knees. For instance brightboy is one of the youngest bands ever to make the cover of Rumba – the most respected music magazine in Finland.
brightboy is the arrogant, urban and ironic, yet beautiful and melodic ground where The Clash meets Saint Etienne. This group of brilliant and aware musicians have had a great start, however it is just the beginning of an exceptional story. Make sure you will be a part of it.

and to speak with a different tone
little by little you lost what it takes
to make it in this world alone
and before you realized
your life had passed you by
all you could've done
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
if only for a little while
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
you walk a corridoor
with so many alike
but most of the time you're all tied up
and too weak to open your eyes
i haven't seen you in years
but i guess that's ok
cause you wouldn't remember me
anyway
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
if only for a little while
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
i haven't seen you in years
but i guess that's ok
cause you wouldn't remember me
anyway
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
if only for a little while
when you cry it's a sign
that you're here with me
The lyrics to Brightboy's song Signs tell a story of someone who has lost their way in life. It is said that they started building walls and speaking in a different tone, which could suggest that they have become closed off and distant from others. As time goes on, they lose the ability to make it in the world alone, and before they know it, their life has passed them by. The singer of the song offers comfort to this person, saying that when they cry, it is a sign that they are not alone.
The second verse paints a picture of someone who is physically present but emotionally distant. They walk down the corridor with people who are just like them, but they are too weak to open their eyes and see the world around them. The singer confesses that they haven't seen this person in years, but it's okay because they wouldn't remember them anyway. The chorus repeats, emphasizing that when this person cries, it is a sign that they are here with the singer, if only for a little while.
The song is a poignant reminder of the struggles that many people face in life. It speaks to the isolation and loneliness that can often be a part of the human experience. However, the song also offers a glimmer of hope. When this person cries, it is a sign that they are not alone, that someone is there to bear witness to their pain. It is a beautiful message of empathy, compassion, and understanding.
