October 8th 2011 merupakan tanggal gig pertama kami yang kemudian disepakati bersama untuk jadi tanggal lahir dari kelompok ini. Awalnya band ini berisi Jojo (drum/vox ), Agung (guitar), Affan (guitar), Sindhu (bass). Februari 2013 Dian bergabung dalam kelompok ini dan mengisi posisi drum, sehingga menempatkan Jojo pada posisi lead vocal (dan Acoustic Guitar)
Nama Broken Rose sendiri diambil bahwa kami meyakini tidak ada satupun yang sempurna dan abadi. Pilihan kata rose (mawar) merupakan satu wujud keindahan, wujud cinta kasih, wangi, anggun, serta berduri. Keindahan ini tidak selamanya, pada akhirnya mawar akan layu, kaku, busuk, kering, atau patah.
Pada masa pencarian jatidiri, band ini kerap membawakan lagu Devildice, sebuah band punk alternative dari Bali. Sehingga sedikit banyak membawa pengaruh dalam warna musik Broken Rose. dan tidak lupa influence lain seperti Superman is Dead, Antonio Banderas, Johnny Cash, Social Distortion, My Chemical Romance, Superglad, dll.
