Brown Bear & The Bandits are a four piece from Ayrshire, Scotland. Combining Country/Blues/Indie guitar and pop hooks with meaningful lyrics, they creates a unique "must hear' sound. Forming in July 2011, they have played well over 200 gigs in Scotland as well as performing elsewhere in the UK & France. They were included in BBC Radio 1's Vic Galloway's Top 35 Acts to Watch for 2012. They also received the Award for Best Acoustic Act at The 2012 Scottish Alternative Music Award in front of a sold out crowd in Glasgow Garage. They have also supported acts such as The Bluebells, The Pigeon Detectives, Karima Francis & Pete Doherty. The bands debut EP 'Truth or Dare' made into Glasgow & Inverness HMV Stores. In the summer of 2012 the band had the privilege of playing festivals such as Massilia Rocks (Marseille, France), T in the Park ( T Break), Wickerman, Belladrum (Go North) as well as the main stage at Loopallu and a packed Summer Nights gig at King Tuts! In 2013 the band have already been tipped by the Sun as 1 of their top 7 acts to watch in the class of 2013. They have also began working on their debut album and their debut single 'Olive Tree' was released via Itunes on February 4th to a very positive response receiving plays on Clyde 1, Vic Galloway's Scottish New Music show and BBC Radio 1 Introducing show with Jen Long & Ally McCrae.
The band recorded their debut album in the summer of 2013 and it is set for release in 2014! The band also supported Babyshambles at the Barrowlands in Glasgow and 02 Academy in Newcastle before supporting The View on a number of their UK Tour dates!!
