Disappear
Bruce Guthro Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I feel a chill run up my back
You walk into the room
You kind of leave me lying here
Wondering waht I'd do
There's a storm building in me
It doesn't make a sound
Well hear it now
CHORUS
Hey, saying I love you
I'd like to think it's understood
Hey, saying I love you
If these words all disappear
NBow tell med how then would you hear it
You got this place down in my soul
That you can call your own
You got this voice that speaks to me
Even when I'm all alone
You may never know it if I left it up to fate
So come on take a hold
The storm's about to break
CHORUS
If I could you know I would
I'd like to think it's understood
If these words all disappear
Now tell med how then would hear it
CHORUS
In Bruce Guthro's song Disappear, the singer feels a chill run up their back as someone enters the room. This person has a special place in the singer's soul and speaks to them, even when they're alone. However, there's a storm building inside of the singer that the other person never thought they'd hear. The singer wants to say "I love you," but wonders how the other person would hear it if those words were to disappear. The true meaning of those words may not be fully understood, but the singer hopes the other person knows how they feel.
The song is about the power of words and the importance of expressing one's feelings. The singer longs to tell the person they love how they feel, but is afraid of the words disappearing or not being fully understood. The storm building inside of the singer represents the intensity of their emotions and the urgency to express them. The use of the storm imagery also creates a sense of impending change and release.
