dude I don't know if you did it intentionally but this video has layers lol. Like, I remember watching this video 4 months ago just to learn how to use a thermal banger, and how the carb cap system worked. I didn't understand much else of what you were talking about but I was able to get the information I needed. Then, about a month later, after acquiring a couple different variants of banger, going through about 12 cheap gas station torches, and finally investing in a propane torch, I decided to look up some heating techniques/pro tips for getting the most efficiency out of my bangers, I again stumbled upon this video. Depending on what you are dabbing fam, you may even want to go just a bit higher. I would consider 500 and below the "low temp" side of the spectrum, with 520 to about 550 being a great mid range. If I'm taking a half gram or more, then I at least try to go in around 560-570 so I can vaporize a good deal of what I put in the banger

I ordered my first banger and waiting for it in the mail. I watched your video to get a head start in knowing how to dab as this will be the first time for me. I completely understood when you said there are so many variations and you can’t give an exact time to heat things up. I will go with your rule of thumb time and go from there. Fire torch kinds, what time will you recommend for each kind that you have experience with?

I have really only used the camp torch and the Blazer fam, so in regard to your question, I would say to be safe; maybe add another 15 seconds to the heating time I give in the video and then add another 5-10 seconds to the cool down. Buying a temp gauge will always be the best way to go though, can't beat dialing in your dabs to the exact temp :)

@THope no special techniques or anything fam, just the ISO and the qtip. I am generous though, I don't have an issue using 2-3 swabs after a dab. I try to make sure I don't have to burn anything off, as it will only help to speed up the chazzing process and thus reduce the nail's ability to retain heat. If you get a temp gun make sure it maxes out over 1200 degrees. I have one that maxes at 716 and it just reads wonky on my banger it says I dab at like 230 I know its wrong. however it reads temps correctly that are within its range.

what is the tool called that he used to finish off the dab? @Jake State Farm considering the video you are commenting on explains the first part of your question im not even gonna bother with it. As long as you wait about 2 minutes after you take a dab you should be able to at least use a dry qtip to mop up whats left in the bucket. Everyone will have a different answer as to where to heat your banger. I heat the entire banger but i do focus a bit more on the bottom since that is gonna be the main contact point once your dab goes in

I use 90% and it has always worked fine. I dilute 99% with distilled water and have heard that as long as it is filtered and not straight from the tap that water by itself does work just as good. I have personally never tried it though, ISO has never let me down so I havent felt much of a need to experiment :)

mapp gas is wayyy to fucking hot dude put a mapp gas top on a normal propane can and itll be more than enough dont use straight mapp gas that shits for like melting metal it burns about twice as hot and its a good way to explode a banger or break the glass especially if you dont know what you doing thats probably why you cant find the right temp

I know a little late to the party but I figured ide leave a thought. If your going buy some type of temp device, I didnt have the beat luck with the non-contact ir temp guns. I use a k-couple temp probe that actually touches the banger when I'm trying to dial in. Great vid my dude. Lots of good info

So fam, while I have not had any experience with the temp gun, I will say that my Thermo Banger Box, which uses the same technology as a decent temp gun, works perfectly and gives me an accurate temp every time. based on my experience (and having a temp gauge to know exactly what i'm taking a dab at) id say you dont wanna take a dab any hotter than 650 and if you have something you want to take at a lower temp, pretty much anywhere around and above 500 degrees is good. Hope that helps, but as far as "this is the right temp to dab EVERYTHING at" I would not say there is one, but if you wanted a solid middle ground for almost any dab, i think about 550 is the closest to a "sweet spot" a nail might have. Now, there are actually temp guides that people have made which you can just google if you want to look into it further. Much love and thanks for watchin!! :)

Temp gauges will change your entire dabbing experience fam. I was pretty proud of myself for thinking I had the "by feel" method down, but now that I have a temp gauge, every single dab is delicious and melts perfectly!! :)

I have never smoked with a nail, but looks easier temp wise. Is a nail like a nector collector? Meaning I dont have to wait for the cool down. I always feel like I'm wasting my wax. So Miss, there is a review of a device called a thermo banger box here on my channel you may want to check out if you are having a little trouble dialing in your temperatures. That tool will enable you to see exactly what temperature your nail is at and thus will allow you to take a dab anywhere from super low temp to ragin hot. that attachment would be called an enail fam. While they are a great tool for some patients, I do not use one myself nor am I interested in purchasing one in the future. The setup as a whole can be kinda bulky, and once it's attached, all it would take is one good tug on that cord and you might lose an entire setup......

I've been dabbing since the days of the dome, but i have a rookie Question. Do you use a timer at all? I know a temp gun is ideal, but I'm unusual. I have a decent collection of bangers and now im losing touch of the heat by feel.

@Chad Bankhead In my opinion, in order to make a timer work, you have to have a set process for dabbing that is ALWAYS the same. You will always need the same amount of fuel in your torch, you will always need to heat up the banger for the exact same amount of time, and even then, the timer won't be giving you an actual temperature but instead kind of a "window" that you will be able to take your dab in. I understand that the price point can seem like an issue, but if you compare it to the quality of the dabs you will be taking, a one time $90 dollar investment isn't that bad for something you are literally going to use for years that will ensure you aren't wasting your concentrate. There are a variety of temp gauges at different price points, so I'm not saying that the one I'm talking about is the one you MUST have. I am saying though, that if you take your dabbing seriously, then you probably should have some version of this tool

I just hate waste lol I like to get all the smoke 💨 but flavor with low temp dabs is key for sauce. I just got some wedding cake diamonds but my domeless nail is too old does not hold the heat to dab at all. Even when red hot it cools of almost immediately so I know it’s time for a new one lol I have quartrz banger to but I suck the oil out of the bowl every time no matter what as the rig I’m using had weird suction issues. I have found that there are companies who make quartz buckets a little deeper than the standard size fam, being a dabber who also hates seeing everything go down the neck of my banger, I try to invest in the deeper buckets and I find that helps a lot. Took 1st dab tonight btw. Im in love. 25 years of flower and im never going back!!!

I used a straw thingy. It worked really well. Used a quartz banger* today as well. (*-questionable as quartz or glass... Bought from head shop here thats been in business for decades for $17.99 which seemed inexpensive.) But i was unable to get a really good hit with my rig that way. It just ran down and sat there. I used an adjustable propane torch similat to big green you shown and heated for over 60 seconds with a 15 secondish cooldown... But no vapor. And i can melt steel washers and nuts with this torch.

So ill keep at it. But so far i love it. Thanks for the advice. Ill sub and check out more from you right now. :)

TheBullHere I had the same problem, you most likely have a low quality banger like a really thin one that doesn’t stay hot at all.. I had a few that I would even get red and hve to take immediately after just to make it smoke

@TheBullHere the easiest fix for taking properly temped dabs is to just buy a temp gun or gauge. I have a review of just such a device here on my channel but you can find them all over social media and also in Home Depot and Lowes. The only thing I could suggest in the meantime is to just cut back on your cool down time, if you are currently waiting 30-40 seconds and are not able to vaporize your dab properly, try maybe only waiting 20 seconds and see if that helps

Very useful man, i use a titanum nail so i just heat the entire thing evenly and take a dab

There is nothing wrong with that fam, but there are definitely alternate routes that you can use to take a dab. While i was a user of titanium for many years, if you don't specifically use an enail setup for yours I would strongly recommend a quartz nail to try. I think you would very much notice the difference in taste alone

Keeping your nail clear will help you enjoy much tastier dabs, quartz that is not chazzed should also retain heat better so you will probably find that it is easier to completely vaporize your dabs with newer/cleaner quartz. Thanks for tuning in fam!! :)

I have a video called Cleaning Your Piece that you may wanna check out fam, as for bangers, I also have a video called maintaining quartz that may help. Other than the advice in those videos, I have friends that swear by 70% ISO. I usually buy a jug of 99% and dilute it down to about 80%, but that's just me :)

So fam, that question is not just limited to that one factor. What kind of concentrates are you dabbing? Is it shatter or diamonds? Budder or badder? How much fuel is in said torch? I give the best base that I can for you to experiment with, but at the end of the day there are so many factors involved that it is the EXACT reason you never hear me try to refer to one particular temp. Im sorry I cant give you an exact number, but if you need any further help feel free to reach out on IG and i will instruct you the best I can :)

Too cold will leave a puddle. Puddles you can always mop up or even re-heat. Too hot will blacken your banger and leave you with the hard to clean stuff, figured that would be self-explanatory through experimentation but.... Thanks for tunin in!!

I get mine red hot for a quartz banger as soon as I'm done I set a timer and I find for mine 14mm banger I'd say 45-60 seconds n it hits perfects for me long good temp dab for me

everybody has their own method fam, but everytime you get that nail red hot you are just speeding up the chazzing process and before you know it, your banger will no longer be clear and hold heat as well as it should. That being said, if you are happy with the method you're using right now, then cheers!!
