12:49 this is actually a really big misconception. I've literally completed his questline a bunch before and never needed the oil pot as the second time he gets stuck can just be skipped. Heck, even the first time can be skipped. He'll always be at Radahn's fight regardless, and he'll eventually just end up in the lava under Volcano Manor.

You actually don’t have to throw the oil pot at Alexander, it’s an optional part of his quest just like meeting him in the mine, but it wouldn’t really matter anyway because to reach him later to get the full shard you would need to jump+if you kill Alexander after radahn you get a slightly better version of the weak jar shard

He made the game harder, then realized he made it TOO hard, and had to make it easier by adding acceptions to his rules, turning off rune loss, and giving himself extremely high poise.

It's theoretically possible to do it without the rune loss, but to do it without the poise, I accidentally forgot to turn it on a few times, and it makes the game actually impossible to complete. Since you are stuck walking, you end up just in an infinite loop of hits, followed by more hits. The 20,000 poise at least lets you stay afloat for a bit.

Funny thing about the weeping peninsula is that the way I got there on my first play through when the game was brand new, I didn’t use that bridge. I parkoured on broken pieces of another bridge until I got to the other side
