Carsten Valentin Jørgensen blev født i Lyngby d. 9. maj 1950.
Stor dansk sangskriver/sanger med vægt på lyrikken og det nasale udtryk.
Uddannet dekoratør i Magasin. Senere studerede han til reklametegner på Københavns Kunsthåndværkerskole. Han var som barn en habil mandolinspiller, men som teenager var det pigtråden der trak og Jørgensen blev sanger i bandet King Size. Det var dog ikke med det band han brød igennem.
Debutalbummet 'En Stynet Strejfer' udkom i 1974 og blev kun opfulgt af et enkelt livejob, da C.V. dengang ikke var meget for at optræde live. Anmelderne blev for alvor interesserede, da det andet album udkom, men det var først med den tredje plade i 1977, at Jørgensen nåede ud til et større publikum.
"Storbyens Små Oaser", var titlen på den tredje skive, og efter udgivelsen turnerede C.V. og opnåede stor succes med hitsne "Det Ganske Lille Band", "Entertaineren" og "Bellevue".
Siden har C.V. Jørgensen været en slags magtfaktor i dansk musik - som folk tilsyneladende enten elsker eller hader. Mandolinen er i øvrigt ikke helt lagt på hylden; kan bl.a. høres på 'Det sir sig selv' fra "I det Muntre Hjørne".
