Cazz probably should've been around in the late 60s or 70s...you know, when they were pressin' that good stuff onto vinyl. Or maybe that's just what he wishes. Either way, his red hair, blue eyes and pop sensibility make him a fresh fit for today.
Often called an old soul in his own right, the young singer / songwriter / musician has just finished his second EP, "Where It Should've Been." Here, Cazz finds his place and sticks to it, showcasing his guitar work and vocal intuition. More than that, he lets his soul do some raining as he works toward truth. Truth that has a groove.
Cazz hails from the high desert of Arizona where he started out as a child pianist and composer. Years later he picked up a guitar and found his voice, teaching himself along the way. Though his style took time to mature, he has always had sharp instincts for songwriting. Cazz's first EP in 2009, "Nights & Windows," brought him solid reviews and an endearing fan base within the acoustic pop scene. Since then he has anchored down and focused, putting in some serious time to hone his craft and reacquaint himself with all the greats.
Adept in the studio as an engineer/producer, Cazz was able to approach his new EP from both sides of the story, creation and actualization, tracking most of it on his own. "Where It Should've Been" is truly a passion EP that seems to put him, well, right where he needs to be.

But I'm not quite sure what
There's this game we keep playing
But you keep your heart shut
Why can't I ever say no to you?
It's like you never, ever wanted me to
Be your lover
You stare at me and it feels right
You touch my hand, you let it go
Will you ever let me know?
Here we are again till late at night
You stare at me and it feels right
I'm so frustrated
I just can't take it no more
I could feel your heart racing
It's more than I'm
Chasing
Wasting
Can't get last night outta my head
Should have stayed here instead
Don't even wanna want you at all
You won't be my call
Here we are again till late at night
You stare at me and it feels right
You touch my hand, you let it go
Will you ever let me know?
Here we are again till late at night
You stare at me and it feels right
I'm so frustrated
I just can't take it no more
Just a tease
A taste of your hand
Around my waist
Your breathe in my neck
Gotta get my heart in check
Off you go once again
Sugar running through my veins
On and off, your bitter, bitter, bittersweet
Bittersweet
Here we are again till late at night
You stare at me and it feels right
You touch my hand, you let it go
Will you ever let me know?
Here we are again till late at night
You stare at me and it feels right
I'm so frustrated
I just can't take it no more
Take it no more
Take it, take it, take it
No more
Here we are
Oh, oh, oh
Here we are
Here we are again
The lyrics of Cazz's "Bittersweet" describe a romantic entanglement between two people who can't seem to fully commit to each other. The singer reflects on their relationship, recognizing that they "could have been something" but is unsure what exactly that is. There's a game of push-and-pull happening between them, with the other person keeping their heart shut while the singer is unable to say no to them. Despite this, they keep coming back to each other until late at night, and there's a certain chemistry that feels right.
The frustration in the relationship is palpable, with the singer admitting they "just can't take it no more." They feel like they're wasting their time chasing after someone who won't commit to them fully. They know that it's probably not a good idea to want this person, but there's something about them that's addictive. The chorus repeats several times, emphasizing the cyclical nature of their relationship - they keep coming back to each other, but the outcome remains uncertain.
Overall, "Bittersweet" conveys the emotional complexity of wanting someone who won't let you be fully with them. It captures the tension of a relationship that feels both right and frustrating, bittersweet in its mix of pleasure and pain.
