International Pop Overthrow founder David Bash described her as "a singer songwriter with a unique brand of glitter glam soulful rock n’ roll sung straight from the heart" and said "you gotta love anyone who can channel Roy Orbison, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, and Etta James in the space of a single set."

Underworld
Cait Brennan Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I just lay in wait
Traps and schemes come in your dreams
And I am just the bait
On the edge of town
I will pull you down
To the underworld
To the underworld
You're a rabbit in my hands
And your heart beats so fast
I do what my god commands
What's wrong is right at last
You can take the stairs
And come into my lair
To the underworld
To the underworld
To the underworld
I am nature's daughter
And I'm livin' beyond the sun
You're more than what you barter
With the souls of everyone
I do all the things you fear
I can't just watch and wait
Cause I love all the things you love
And hate the things you hate
On the edge of town, I will pull you down
To the underworld
To the underworld
To the underworld
Finally you're learning what they don't want you to know
Finally you're going where they don't want you to go
On the edge of town
Yeah, I will pull you down
To the underworld
To the underworld
To the underworld
Cait Brennan's song "Underworld" speaks of a mysterious place where the singer invites someone, referred to as a rabbit, to join her. The lyrics appear to be metaphorical, suggesting that the underworld might refer to a forbidden or secret place, where the singer can fulfil her desires. The first stanza mentions the fields and forests that call out the rabbit's name while the singer lingers, waiting for her prey. The rabbit's subconscious is plagued with traps and schemes, while she is the bait. The chorus repeats the desire to bring the rabbit to the underworld, an enticing but dangerous place.
The second stanza "You're a rabbit in my hands" continues the metaphor. Whatever lies ahead holds considerable risk and danger, as represented by a rabbit's heart beating too fast. However, the singer, who presents herself as a nature's daughter, is not hesitant to do what her guidance tells, and it appears that performing these ominous deeds leads to the reward of being able to live beyond the sun. The third and final stanza rounds off the song, encouraging the rabbit that by coming with her, she is finally learning what they don't want you to know and going where they don't want you to go, again suggesting that the underworld could be an unconventional, but fulfilling experience.
