I really love how they use this reprise as a metaphor. Phineas is seeing the same limitless wonder in his daughters that he used to feel (literally, since they're singing HIS song), and is reminded of the dream he had as a child. Him joining in at the end shows that the dream has been rekindled and his newfound drive to see it though.
