When it came to it, there was only one approach in order to create the sound that they had in mind for what it would turn out to be "El Tiempo y la Ciudad" ("The Time and The City"). That was to grab a van and start an epic journey from Tijuana all the way to Eudora, Kansas, drenching themselves in roads, landscapes, sunsets and songs.

The lyrics to Canseco's song Antes De Que Te Vayas convey a sense of desperation and longing for the subject's significant other not to leave. The first verse expresses the difficulty of saying goodbye and pleading for another chance: "No es tan facil despedirme/dejame trato otra vez." The second verse details how quickly time has passed and the singer's inability to tell their lover not to leave: "ni siquiera te pude decir que no te vayas/que no puedo estar sin ti." The chorus reinforces the idea that the subject cannot be without their lover and would go to the ends of the earth with them.
The third verse uses hyperbolic language to drive home the point that the subject cannot live without their love interest: "pues si tu estas ya no necesito nada/y contigo me doy cuenta/que me faltan las palabras/si tuviera un submarino/yo te llevaria hasta el fondo/o si quieres yo te traigo el mar a ti." The imagery of a submarine and bringing the ocean to their lover shows the depth and magnitude of their feelings.
