Captain Jack Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ejo Captain Jack
Bring me back to the railroad track

Running to the railroad track
Run along with Captain Jack
Run into the peacecamp back
Run along with Captain Jack
Badadadideido, left right right left
Badadadideido, run along with Captain Jack

Forward march!

Ejo Captain Jack
Bring me back to the railroad track
Give me a gun in my hand
I want to be shooting man
Left, right, left
The military step
The airforce rap
The seventeen is the best
Goo, left, go right, go pick up the step, go left, go right, go left

We're running to the railroad track
Run along with Captain Jack
Badadadideido, run along with Captain Jack
Run into the peacecamp back
Run along with Captain Jack
Badadadideido, badideido, badideidideidideido
Badadadideido, left right right left
Badadadideido, run along with Captain Jack

Company attention forward march!

Ejo Captain Jack
Bring me back the railroad track
Give me a bottle in my hand
I want to be drunken man
Left, right, left
The military step
The airforce rap
The seventeen is the best
Goo, left, go right, go pick up the step, go left, go right, go left

(Repeat )

We are running...

Ejo Captain Jack
Bring me back the railroad track
Give me a women in my hand
I want to be fucking man
Left, right, left
The military step
The airforce rap
The seventeen is the best
Goo, left, go right, go pick up the step, go left, go right, go left

(Repeat )

We Are running

Overall Meaning

The song is performed by the German dance music group Captain Jack, it was written by Udo Niebergall, Eric Sneo, and Daniel Abraham. The song has a military theme and shows the band's love for marching music. The song begins with Ejo Captain Jack, Bring me back to the railroad track, which immediately establishes the military marching theme. The lyrics in the first paragraph are a call to action to run along with the Captain Jack and march to the peacecamp back. The verse has a catchy rhythm and a military-style cadence that is suggestive of a troop formation march. The song implies that Captain Jack is the leader of the group, and everyone follows his orders.

In the second paragraph, the lyrics take a darker turn as the tempo picks up, and the "gun" takes center stage. The lines "Give me a gun in my hand, I want to be a shooting man" might suggest that the song was written from the perspective of soldiers who are marching towards war. The military step, airforce rap, and the seventeen being the best are all references to the various military branches, adding to the song's military theme. The percussion-heavy beat and plodding bassline further evoke a militaristic feel.

In the final verse, the lyrics take a more lewd turn with the line "Give me a woman in my hand, I want to be a fucking man." This line has caused some controversy, but it can be interpreted as a reflection of the song's youthful and rebellious energy. The lyrics imply that the group is still youthful and has a wild streak, which is a nod to the song's dance music roots. The song again ends with a call to run along with Captain Jack to complete the military-themed dance party.

Really nice to see new Torchwood vids online🥰
Even this series is now quite „old“ I love it!
Wished it did not end in a kinda way it did…

Loved the setting and the characters

Thanks a lot for the video

Would somehow be nice to see more videos about Torchwood maybe with music from Breaking Benjamin, 3DG or any other Band which was popular those days
dreaming

Keep up the work!

@hey 123 Jack was with angelo back in 1927 (I think) so him and angelo is a flashback to before Ianto was even born. Jack is immortal incase you haven’t seen that bit, so he’s been around for about 150 years

hey 123

Thank you so much for making this. I love this video because the history of their love is well edited. And your sense of song selection is incredible. I heard the covers of All I Ask and In The End for the first time and loved them very much.

I’m very glad you enjoyed it!! I definitely plan to give this another go at some point though cause I’m still quite new to editing XD

River Song

I happened to be watching the ending of this while I was reading a fanfic about Jack grieving for Ianto... I'm ugly crying now.
