The guys of Captain Orthegon are all for water, boating, salty air and hard rock. Emotions play a major role in the music of this band. Captain Orthegon has a similar sound to bands such as Biffy Clyro and Nirvana, where their influences come from.
The band came together in the spring of 2010 in Amstelveen, when four guys felt like something else. No more simple punk-rock, or a normal pop song. This would be thoughtful, meaningful grunge.
Just a short year later the Captain has played some serious gigs, and his first EP, Suddenly I Snap, has recently been released.
Captain Orthegon is Tom de Groot (vocals, guitar), Dick Thole (vocals, guitar), Samuel Norbury (bass, percussion, backing vocals) and Dorus Green (drums). Furthermore, the band pro-illegally downloading and distributing (their own) music.

Spetterende gitaren, vloeibare baslijnen en een nat drumstel. De jongens van Captain Orthegon staan voor water, zeevaart, ziltige lucht en harde rock. Gevoeligheid speelt een grote rol in de muziek van deze band. Captain Orthegon is qua sound vergelijkbaar aan Biffy Clyro of Nirvana, waar ze ook zeker hun invloeden vandaan hebben.
De band is in het voorjaar van 2010 samengekomen in Amstelveen, toen vier jongens zin hadden in iets anders. Niet meer simpele punkrock, of een normaal pop-nummertje. Dit zou doordachte, betekenisvolle grunge worden.
Een jaar later en de Kapitein heeft een aantal serieuze gigs onder de riem, en zijn eerste EP, Suddenly I Snap, is onlangs gereleased.
Captain Orthegon is Tom de Groot (vocals, guitar), Dick Thole (vocals, guitar), Samuel Norbury (bass, percussion, backing vocals) en Dorus Groen (drums). Verder staat de band voor het illegaal downloaden en verspreiden van (eigen) muziek.
