Cardin was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica, but was raised in mean streets of Bronx, New York. Raised in a Raggae/Dancehall family, Cardin was always very fond of watching his father sing and perform. And it was around the tender age of 5 years-old that Cardin’s love of music began to grow beyond measure. “I loved to perform and sing,” Cardin remembers. “ But that changed when I discovered how Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones worked together with music and motion pictures. I then wanted to be more of a producer like Quincy Jones instead of the performer type on stage.”
As time went on this musical hopeful stepped upon the tumultuous road of the music business performing at local talent shows around the NYC area. And it’s with Cardin’s extreme determination and musical depth that he landed a unique opportunity to join the ranks of such amazing acts like Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and Beyonce Knowles at the longstanding and prestigious record company Columbia Records. Already solidified a star, college appeared to be a more safer route-- and the age of 17 years-old, Cardin decided that a post secondary education was just as important as his desire to sing and perform on a stage.
After a number of years in corporate America, Cardin’s desire to create music began to outweigh his desire for corporate dominance. With the overwhelming feeling to get back into producing and writing material, Cardin relocated to Hollywood and began handpicking unsigned artists to collaborate with musically.
With musical influences from the 80’s baby era --- as well as such musical icons like Micheal Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Babyface and Boyz II Men -- Cardin's desire to creatively blend songs that motivate, inspire and remain relatable is a primary focus. “Telling a story, or sending a message, is big because that’s what touches people at the end of the day” Cardin boasts.
Coming into his own musically at the age of twenty-eight years-old, Cardin has applied his skill and knowledge on a bevy of musical projects -- most notably his current smash “Emergency,” which is currently garnering an impressive buzz on the world wide web. And, was even featured on popular blog sites like Gyantunplugged.com’s highly sought “Dope Record Alert,” and has also been featured on BET.com.

I saw you there just looking at me
Mmm hmm
Yeah I'm talkin to you
You put up a front but I see through you
You must be crazy for thinking like that
Caught you many times for staring at me
Yeah I'm talking to you
Why you gotta act like I'm a fool?
Round in the circle so many games
Sooner or later I'll have my way
CHORUS
Cut to the chase as I show it over and over
You wanna get closer to me
And you know it
So why don't you just make your move
I got all of my love just waiting for you
All your boys have been telling me
You went and told them that you wanted me
Uh huh
Baby that's a fact
So tell me what are you gonna do about that?
Even your friends have been telling me
You went around and asked for me
Mmm hmm
Now that I'm right here
Say what you need
Baby I'm all ears
So tell me what are you running for?
Give me a sign and then I'll be yours
Repeat Chorus 2X
Round in the circle so many games
Sooner or later I'll have my way

Repeat Chorus 2X
The lyrics to Cardin Nguyen's song "The Chase" speak to the confusion and frustration of romantic pursuit. The opening lines confront the game-playing and disingenuousness of a potential partner. The singer sees the other person staring at them, but they're acting aloof. The singer calls them out, asking why they're playing it cool and pretending not to be interested. The rest of the verses address the mixed signals and half-truths that can make pursuing a relationship difficult, especially when others get involved. The singer makes it clear that they want to cut through the drama and get to the heart of the matter, encouraging the other person to make a move and "get closer."
The chorus of "The Chase" is a bold declaration of the singer's readiness for a commitment. They invite the other person to "cut to the chase" and just go for it, promising that they have "all of [their] love just waiting." The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the urgency and certainty of the singer's feelings. The bridge, which repeats the earlier lines about going in circles and eventually getting what you want, leads back into the chorus for a final declaration of romantic readiness. Overall, the song captures the push and pull of a potential relationship, the desire for clarity and honesty, and the excitement of finally making a connection.
