Oh I'm sad. I'm from Dobkins hometown and he still lived there. I always hoped for a second chance concert from him. I saw his show in 1960 and it was the beginning of my love of music.

Fell in love with this song back in the winter of 1986, I was 25 the first time I heard this great tune (KKNU, Fresno, DJ Alan Tatarian) and this song always reminded me of this pretty brown eyed gal named Hilda. 2022, I'm 61 now and I am still reminded of that pretty thing from way back
I hope God has blessed with a good life and age has been gentle on her beauty.
Funny how great songs from a by gone era still talk to folks from all ages.

Mr. Dobkins, we live in the same hometown. You were the very first singer I saw live in my life; age 14, Dick Clark Show, 1961.Topper Ballroom, Cincinnati. I still remember the massive crush I ha on you (thanks!)...and still remember the little table you sat at to sign an autograph for me. It was right then and there, I became a lover of music and great performers--and I've loved the years I've seen so many. I became a teen DJ in 1964, I was so smitten with rock n' roll. I hope to meet you again someday.....somewhere in our shared town.

I met Carl in the 50's when I was a disk jockey in Cincinnati. We became friends and remained so to the end. Carl passed away sealed as a true Christian who did not fear death. We had planned a visit in May but he was in too much pain and as a hospital chaplain, I prayed for God's will to be done for both him and his wife. There is a place in the tenor section of the heavenly choir for him and we can all rejoice that has only been temporarily stilled. Rest in Peace my friend. R.T.
