I had this crazy dream
Carl Klang had an imagination of a hypothetical situation or future event.

About some folks who loved this country
In his thought experiment, Carl Klang envisioned people who were patriotic and adored their nation.

Who all began to dream the same dream
These individuals started to have the same aspiration or ideal.

And when the mornin’ came
As time passed, the people’s dream became more concrete, like a new day.

There arose across this nation
These like-minded individuals began to appear all over the country.

People thinkin’ one and the same
They shared the same thoughts and perspectives.

And they awoke to find their freedom
Eventually, they realized that the liberties they once had were gone.

And all their liberties
Every right or privilege that they enjoyed was lost.

Had gradually been taken away
This loss happened over time, but unnoticed until it was too late.

And when they realized the danger to their posterity
Only upon noticing the threat to their future generations, did they become aware of the situation.

I heard those Patriotic people say….
According to Carl’s dream, those patriotic people said something specific.

We want this Country back!
These people longed for their nation, as it once was, before their freedom and rights were taken.

We ain’t just jokin’ jack!
The people were serious and sincere about their position.

We want our liberty
Their primary concern is to regain their freedom.

And our dignity
They also desire respect and pride for their country.

And our freedoms and our rights restored
Additionally, they want all their privileges reinstated.

She’s been driven way off track
The country was not what they expected it to be or what it once was.

We’re wide awake
Those people were now aware of what was happening in their country.

And we’re madder than hell now
They were angry and annoyed about the current situation.

And we ain’t gonna take it anymore!
They decided that it was time for change.

Remember golden days
Carl reminisces about a previous time when things were better.

When the Stars and Strips forever
Those happier times represented the country's flag, the Star-Spangled Banner.

Symbolized her glorious name “AMERICA”
The flag was a reference to the nation’s proud and revered name.

But now it’s all been changed
The nation's image and values have shifted.

And when we gaze upon Old Glory
When they see their country's flag, it brings negative emotions.

It’s hard to fight back feelin’s of shame
The experience is not favorable, and it evokes both guilt and embarrassment.

We’re fed up with lyin’ politicians
Those individuals have lost faith in elected officials who do not tell the truth.

And greedy corporations
They also criticize businesses that are worried only about profit, not their nation or its people.

Who have sold us out
Those same politicians and corporations have betrayed them for their own gain.

Time and again
This kind of betrayal has happened more than once.

And we’re sick and tired of sendin’
They feel exhausted and sick about one specific issue.

Our soldiers off to wars
The United States regularly sends its soldiers to fight in wars in various nations.

That we were never meant to win
These wars have an unfavorable outcome that the people did not intend.

Now we know our cause is right
After considering the current situation, they are confident that their goal is just.

And our victory’s on the way
They are optimistic that they will achieve their goal soon.

And we won’t give up the fight
Giving up was not an option for them.

‘Till we hear two hundred million say
They want the support of the entire United States population.

And we ain’t taken anymore flack!
They will no longer tolerate any repercussions or insults against them.

That’s right we’re no gonna take it anymore!….
The people want change, and they are determined to fight against the current system.
