Carla Mauri siempre ha tenido un gusto por lo dramático. Una de sus bandas favoritas es QUEEN, liderada por el altamente teatral Freddie Mercury. Se ha convertido en una estrella en ascenso en México, en parte gracias a su asociación con «Gossip Girl: Acapulco«, una adaptación mexicana de la serie de televisión estadounidense que se estrenó en México en la época en que Mauri lanzó su álbum debut “Mundo Ideal”. Mauri tuvo una aparición en la serie como ella misma, interpretando su sencillo dance-pop “Tengo Que Olvidarme De Ti”, que inmediatamente fue Top 10, al igual que su segundo sencillo, la balada romántica “Así No Se Debe Querer”. Lanzo el video de su tercer sencillo “Siempre, Siempre”, el cual estará disponible por las tiendas digitales el 3 de Marzo; un cover de Fresas Con Crema, grupo pop mexicano de los años 80´s en el cual Toño, su padre, fuera uno de los integrantes.
Ahora firmada por la empresa de Management Americana, Reigndeer Select, dirigida por Larry Rudolph (Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears) y Rebecca Lambrecht, Mauri se prepara para en el 2015 dejar su huella en los EEUU. Está escribiendo nuevas canciones en Inglés junto con su colaboradora Kika Pulido y grabándolas con el productor Steve Morales (Enrique Iglesias, Thalía) entre otros, mismas que planea incluir en un EP. La música de Mauri tanto en Inglés o Español, refleja su condición de artista joven que abraza la cultura latina en la que ella nació y al mismo tiempo el paisaje americano donde creció.
La música de Mauri refleja también diversas influencias musicales que van desde artistas americanos como Katy Perry y The Killers, a la estrella colombiana Shakira, o artistas mexicanos como Gloria Trevi, Thalía, Paulina Rubio y Alejandro Fernández, e incluso el cantante español Alejandro Sanz.
Mauri comenzó a tomar clases de piano a los cinco años, luego siguió por la guitarra con la orientación de su abuelo, padre y primos. Pero desde siempre su pasión era cantar, por ello a los ocho años comenzó a tomar clases de canto, con Kika Pulido como su vocal coach. Ella y Pulido comenzaron a escribir canciones juntas y crear demos, lo que llevó a la grabación de Mundo Ideal. El álbum muestra el amor de Mauri para escribir letras.
Actualmente Carla Mauri se encuentra lista para lanzar la reedición de “Mundo Ideal” su álbum debut en Marzo de 2015.
