Carla Morrison has three studio albums: "Dejenme Llorar" (2012), "Amor supremo" (2015) and "El renacimiento" (2022). She also has an acoustic album; "Amor supremo (Desnudo)" made in 2017; In addition to four EP's: "Aprendiendo a aprender" (her first project made in 2009), "Mientras tu dormías..." (2010), "Jugando en serio" (2013) and "La niña del tambor" (2016 ); also including her acoustic EP made at the beginning of 2022: "Los cuatro actos acústicos".
Carla Morrison is the daughter of two Mexican parents: Porfiria Flores and Hilario Morrison. Her father, Hilario Morrison, formerly Viera, got his last name when he was adopted by William Guy Morrison, born in California and the son of an English migrant named Laura Morrison.
Carla Morrison was born and lived in Tecate for the first years of her life. Since she was little, she received training in the art of drawing, dancing and singing, and she showed a special inclination for this last discipline. Motivated by her conviction to dedicate herself to music, she went to Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of seventeen. In this city, she began her musical studies at Mesa Community College, but soon dropped out because her way of approaching music was more spiritual, emotional and self-taught than academic.
Inspired by her teacher David Barrios, a Mexican lyric baritone, she began to present her first musical compositions under the artistic name of Babaluca . This project was consolidated as a band with the adhesion of Nick Kizer and Nichole Petta and positioned itself in a short time as one of the most important projects on the local scene.
During this stage of her artistic life, the singer collaborated with Mark Erickson —multi-instrumentalist musician, and member of the band Colorstone, from Phoenix, Arizona—, producer of Babaluca's first album, which never came out. Carla Morrison and Mark Erickson worked together to perform the song “Tragos de amargo licor” by Ramón Ayala at a country music festival, which was included in their extended play (ep), Aprendiendo a aprender. In addition, Mark Erickson invited her to be a backing vocalist on the Go Away Closer album, which he produced for Lonna Kelley.
After a short but productive career with Babaluca, Carla decided to leave the project and she returned to Mexico to continue her musical career as a soloist.

Me asusta el sentir que te quiero
Quiero controlar mis deseos
Pero tu aroma incita mis besos
Y mi piel comienza a confundir
Lo que tus caricias quieren decir
Y a mi cuerpo en tu cuerpo
Respeto a alguien le debo de tener
Son tus besos y mis besos
Voy a fugarme otra vez
No quiero herirme, no sé
Tengo miedo, mucho miedo
Es importante lo es, mi corazón ya no cree
Está seco ya muy seco
Tus preguntas alimentan mi ego
Y me siento importante de nuevo
Tengo rato mirándote de lejos
Me gusta los encuentros secretos
Y mi piel comienza a confundir
Lo que tus caricias quieren decir
Y a mi cuerpo en tu cuerpo
Esto no puede suceder
Respeto a alguien le debo de tener
Son tus besos y mis besos
Voy a fugarme otra vez
No quiero herirme, no sé
Tengo miedo, mucho miedo
Es importante lo es, mi corazón ya no cree
Está seco ya muy seco, ooh
Voy a fugarme otra vez
No quiero herirme, no sé
Tengo miedo, mucho miedo
Es importante lo es, mi corazón ya no cree
Está seco ya muy seco, oh
In Carla Morrison’s song “Me Encanta,” the singer expresses their conflicting feelings towards their lover. The singer loves the taste of their lover’s kisses, but is afraid of the deepening emotional connection they feel towards the lover. The singer wants to control their desires, but is unable to resist their lover’s aroma which excites their desire to kiss them again. The singer is confused by the illusions of their lover’s caresses on their skin and is worried that giving in to their lover’s physical attraction will cause them to disrespect someone they owe loyalty to. However, the desire for their lover’s kisses overwhelms them and they contemplate running away again in fear of getting hurt. The singer’s heart has lost faith in love and cannot risk being hurt again by their lover.
The lyrics of “Me Encanta” capture the emotional turmoil of the singer as they try to navigate their own desires and their fear of being hurt once again. The singer desires physical intimacy with their lover but is frightened of the depth and power of their feelings. The conflicting emotions are further complicated by the pressure to remain faithful to the person they owe loyalty to. The lyrics ultimately depict the singer’s internal struggle as they grapple with their own feelings and try to make sense of the conflicting desires caused by love and fear.
