Vivo implorando ese día
En que mi vida vacía
Corte el puñal de la muerte
Porque tal vez ya sin verte
Cese el dolor de esta pena
Que a vivir me encadena
The song Flora by Carlos Di Sarli tells the story of a man who is madly in love with a woman named Flora. He is so consumed by his love for her that he begs for the day when death will cut the empty life he is living. He hopes that in death, the pain of loving Flora will cease and he will be free from the chains of his unrequited love. The singer is resigned to his fate and understands that he will never be able to forget Flora, who has become his everything.
The lyrics are a testament to the obsessive nature of love and how it can take hold of a person's life. The singer is portrayed as a man who is completely consumed by his love for Flora and is willing to give up everything, even his life, for her. The use of the metaphor of a knife and death adds a dramatic tone to the song and emphasizes just how much the singer is suffering due to his love for Flora.
