Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
The lyrics of "Let It Be" by Carol Woods and Timothy T. Mitchum describe how, in times of trouble, the singer is comforted by the presence of Mother Mary, who speaks words of wisdom to them and encourages them to let things unfold and not to fight against them. In the second verse, the songwriter also suggests that if broken-hearted people come together and agree to let things be, there will be an answer, indicating that unity and acceptance can bring resolution.
The song is a beautiful reminder to listeners that in difficult times, it's essential to turn inward and trust in a power greater than themselves. It also highlights the unity and connection between all people, emphasizing the importance of coming together and accepting things as they are.
