Gemini
Carv Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I lie awake; I recreate the words that you say
I lie awake; I recreate the words you spit at me
I won't remember tomorrow
(There's a civil war inside of me)

I can't even see today (Consume, control)
Blindly led, sold on sorrow (One sacred memory)
Too much to bear anyway
(Always wrong, come inside you)

I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I'm inside of you, I'm a part of you are never alone
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I will come inside you
(Take this away, lies crawl inside you)
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I'm inside of you, I'm a part of you are never alone
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I will crawl inside you
Still lost in a memory
(Tear your praying hands apart)
You can't always live in faith
(Breathe in change)
I've been here, consumed by memory
(One naked memory)
Only blind men play it safe

CHORUS

I find myself in the reflection of the enemy
I see the stars dying in your eyes
I find myself in the reflection staring back at me
I find myself in the reflection

I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I'm inside of you, I'm a part of you are never alone
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I will come inside you now
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I'm inside of you, I'm a part of you are never alone
I'm inside of you; I'm a part of you
I will crawl inside you now

Are you sick of me?
Tear apart the enemy
Are you sick of me?
Find the gem-in-I
Are you sick of me?

Tear apart the enemy
In your eyes

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Carv's song "Gemini" are filled with intense emotions related to memory, reflection, and self-identity. The first verse talks about lying awake and recreating the words that someone else has said, both positive and negative. The line "there's a civil war inside of me" indicates that the singer is struggling with conflicting feelings about their relationship with the other person. The second verse speaks to the idea of being consumed by memory, unable to see the present clearly, and feeling alone even when inside someone else. There is a sense of desperation and confusion in the lyrics, as if the singer is searching for some meaning or resolution to their internal struggle.

The chorus is repeated several times throughout the song, with slight variations each time. It describes the singer's reflection in the enemy, seeing stars dying in someone else's eyes, and ultimately finding themselves in the reflection staring back at them. This could be interpreted as a search for self-identity or a realization that the enemy they see may actually be a projection of their own inner turmoil.

Overall, the lyrics to "Gemini" are complex and poetic, with multiple layers of meaning and emotion. They touch on themes of memory, identity, and self-discovery, as well as the struggles that come with relationships and personal growth.

Biography
There is more than one artist with this name:
1) CARV - Metal / Industrial band from Massachusetts.
2) Carv! - Blink-182 and other punk-pop remixes.
1) Formally known as Mantra, CARV swept through the Massachusetts music scene last year in a blur. In March 2000, the band was booked to play the main stage at the Locobazooka! 2000 festival after the promoter heard their demo single "No Exit". In only their second show, they opened for national acts Disturbed, Dope, P.O.D., and Days of the New. The sponsor of the event, radio station WAAF labeled CARV "the local band to watch". The band signed a recording contract with XOFF Records and quickly completed a 6-song EP entitled "Anesthetic" at New England's legendary Longview Farms Recording Studio (Creed, Sevendust, Staind) with Boston Music Award-nominated producer Scott Riebling (Letters to Cleo, American Hi-Fi). The band also signed a management deal with industry legend Dan Beck (Epic Records, V2). To complete the circle, CARV hit the main stage again at Locobazooka! 2001, the only local act to have a 30 minute set, opening for The Henry Rollins Band, Bio Hazard, and Reveille.
