Why would someone give this a thumbs down??? I always think of my daughter, and her first dolly, when I hear this song. This Christmas will be the 6th Christmas where she is no longer with us. She died at age 24. Killed in a mass shooting in 2013. I know Christmas in Heaven is 1000 times better than she could have ever had here on Earth.

Well, I just love this man and this is so tender. Finally having a child late in life must have been such a joy to him. And it makes this very dear. Love the spirit behind it.

it was. he was disappointed that he hadn't had more kids. He discovered that the best thing in the world for him was being a father and though he never had any successful marriages he was an amazing father who adored his daughter.

I remember growing up listening to this song. I loved it then and I love it even more now, 40 years later. This is the first time I have heard it since I was about 19. It's very moving. and brings back some wonderful childhood memories. Cary's voice is wonderful for this type of song. Wish they would play it on the radio!
