He is best known for composing Nero's battle theme song "Devil Trigger" from the video game, Devil May Cry 5. His work has charted internationally and also spans across the film, TV, video game, and song industries.
Raised primarily on rock and pop, he would eventually pick up the guitar and begin writing songs of his own. During this time, music became more than a hobby and fully transformed into a serious passion. By the end of high school, this love of music had expanded into the world of film scores. This piqued his interest enough to lead him down the path to a classical education in music theory and composition. Upon graduating, Casey combined his efforts of both formal education and the anything-goes mentality of the rock and pop world he grew up in to begin crafting his voice in the industry.

First of all, GOD DAYM that's a banger and a half that only now YT decided to show me.
Casting aside all DMC related stuff, this could be easily interpreted as a mind of a terminally ill person, probably even in a coma but still aware enough to think, struggling between giving up on life and still trying to hold on to it.
HEAR ME OUT.
What most supports that in my eyes is
1. The chorus.
2. The whisper.
3. Second verse.
4. The screaming part before the last chorus.
1. Chorus speaks of a burden, 'the weight of the world', that is drowning the person. Could be speaking of a disease that, as time progresses, gets worse. 'It's coming faster every day', Person also laments they 'cannot rewind the time', either the one they lost due to the disease, or that they might not remember the time before it and they cannot relive these memories in their head ('help me remember' line could point to that).
2. 'Now that you're lost, tell me
What do you see?'
Being lost could mean being stuck in bed, losing all hope and being well past the breaking point. After reaching that, a new perspective on life and what was lost is bound to emerge.
3. 'Blank eyes and muffled screams' is what i would imagine a comatose person could call the experience of being unable to contact the world around them, the one they cannot hear, see or feel.
Also the line 'Last grip fueled by machines' could be refering to being kept on life support.
4. This sounds, kinda, like someone trying to 'hype' themselves up into not giving up. Telling themseves to 'not throw it way or you'll sink in the SAND'. Very not suble nod to death.
What is most intresting is the last part.

It's like one last hurrah, 'i can do it' before doubt settles in and tries to overcome you, like it is screaming (see what i did here?) at you.
All in all, it prolly isn't really about that. But i can see it here and had to share.
