Time to Say Goodbye
Casey Lee Williams & Jeff Williams Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Theres a point where it tips
theres a point where it breaks
theres a point where it bends
and a point we just can't take
anymore

Theres a line that we'll cross
and there's no return
theres a time and a place
no bridges left to burn
anymore

We can't just wait with lives at stake
until they think we're ready
our enemies are gathering
the storm is growing deadly

Now its time to say goodbye
to the things we loved
and the innocence of youth
how the time seemed to fly
from our carefree lives
and the solitude and peace we always knew

Theres a day when we'll fight
and we're not gonna fall
theres a day when we'll stand
and a day when we won't crawl
anymore

There's a moment in time
and there's no going back
when we're pushed too hard
and we won't hold our attack
anymore

We can't just cling to childish things
as evil just grows closer
humanity's in jeopardy
this fight is far from over

Now its time to say goodbye
to the things we loved
and the innocence of youth
with a doubt in our minds
why we chose this life
and at times we can't help wondering...

Were we born to fight and die?
sacrificed for one huge lie?
are we heroes keeping peace?
or are we weapons?
pointed at the enemy
so someone else can claim a victory?

Now its time to say goodbye
to the things we loved
and the innocence of youth
how the time seemed to fly

from our carefree lives
and the solitude and peace we always knew

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in "Time to Say Goodbye" by Casey Lee Williams and Jeff Williams present a sense of urgency and inevitability as the singers reach a critical point of no return. The song takes on a theme of sacrifice, reflecting on the difficult choices one must make in life while also calling attention to the external pressures that can force one to act in ways that are not always fully understood. The verses imply that there will be a moment when events will cause a breakdown, whether it is emotional, psychological, or physical, and that this is the time when one cannot help but take a stand.

The lyrics reflect a sense of loss, as the singers realize that they are leaving behind aspects of their lives that were formative and positive. However, they have been forced to grow up quickly and face difficult challenges, possibly in defense of their way of life. They are weary of the constant threat posed by their enemies, and they recognize that the choices they make might lead them to become heroes or villains. This sense of moral ambiguity is one that is present throughout the song, and it is what gives it its depth.

Overall, the lyrics in "Time to Say Goodbye" reflect the difficult choices one must make in life, the cost of taking a stand, and the sense of loss that comes with leaving behind innocence and youth. The song is a powerful message of hope and resilience, reflecting the desire to move forward despite the challenges that may come.

I will only counter that the extended childhood is a creation of the 18th and more 19th Century only fully implemented in the 20th. Juveniles it a lie they are children might actually be better off as the adults they were for 99 percent of human exist. Note for most of history there were more levels of maturity it was not just adult/child and the tribe elders or the Clan head controlled all of the adults lives so younger adults still had even more mature supervision. Mother in Law actually the adult over the young mothers.

The idea was to create retirement for people to have time to play before the end and extend childhood past the time toys were played with so play would last longer. That actually was the divider and it is programed in DNA you into toys until your supposed to move onto work and tasks.

We have learned with the Old that for many work is still way more rewarding and it might be true for the young as well that when they worked and started families early they actually were happier.

This might be wrong but the wait till 18 system has around 50 percent very unhappy and historical high suicide rates so the current wait till 18 system is a failure. Small changes are not right it time to consider blowing it up for something else.

We do need to switch back to Juvenile (adult) as Juveniles are not children nor are they full adults.

"Were we born to fight and die, sacrificed for one huge lie? Are we heroes keeping peace? Or are we weapons pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory?"

They really foreshadowed everything in the openings, huh? This line particularly hits hard once you watch the later volumes.
