Chop Suey
Casey Shea Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
Hide the scars to fade away the
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table
You wanted to
Here you go, create another fable
You wanted to
But I don't think you trust in my self-righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
Wake up, grab a brush and put a little make up
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
Hide the scars to fade away the
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table
You wanted to
Here you go, create another fable
You wanted to
But I don't think you trust in my self-righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
Trust in my self-righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
Trust in my self-righteous suicide
I cry
"Chop Suey" by Casey Shea is a song about a dysfunctional relationship that has taken a toll on both parties involved. The lyrics suggest that the singer is struggling with his own emotional scars and trying to hide them with makeup. He also questions his partner's trust in him when it comes to making decisions about their lives. The line "Why'd you leave the keys upon the table / You wanted to" suggests that there has been a breakdown in communication and decision-making in the relationship. The singer feels like he is being pushed to the brink of a "self-righteous suicide" but acknowledges that it would be wrong to act on these feelings.
Overall, the song explores themes of emotional turmoil, insecurity, and the complexities of human relationships. The lyrics suggest that the singer is struggling to express his feelings and connect with his partner, which is leading to feelings of isolation and desperation. He wants to be understood and trusted but feels like he is being pushed away.
