The music ranges from childish naivism to dark, harder grooves, but addictive melodies also play an important role in this melting pot of improvisation and absurdness. The samples used are taken from Norwegian radio shows for children, cassette-books about Africa, and interviews (done by the band) of young communist activists. The shadow puppet group Figuraturus tells the story of the starving tribe of African robots hunting for food.
Det haster!
Casiokids Lyrics

Ta en svamp og gjør deg i stand
For din grotte fylles sakte opp av regnets vann
Det haster!
Å våkne opp til sin vekke-alarm
For ka koker du i stand der nede uansett?
Det haster!
Å komme ut før man sitter fast
Er den by me bor i
Det haster!
Å holde tankene sine fri
Man må le til man må gråte
Og leve til man dør
Det haster!
Før man oppdager at man blør
Man må le til man må gråte
Og leve til man dør
Det haster!
Når man snakker og ikkje gjør
Man må le til man må gråte
Og leve til man dør
Det haster!
Før man lukker igjen sin dør
Man må le til man må gråte
Og leve til man dør
The lyrics to Casiokids's song "Det Haster!" speak to the urgency of life and the need to make the most of every moment before it's too late. The song begins by urging the listener to take action and prepare for the incoming rain that threatens to flood their cave. The urgency of the situation is palpable, and the lyrics emphasize the need to act quickly and decisively.
The song then moves on to other aspects of life that require swift action. The lyrics suggest that it's important to wake up early and start the day with purpose, rather than simply going through the motions. The singer asks, "what are you cooking down there anyway?" which could be interpreted as a metaphor for life - what are you doing with your time here on earth?
Throughout the song, there is a constant reminder that time is running out. The urgency builds with each passing verse, urging the listener to keep their thoughts clear and focused, and to live life to the fullest. The final line of the song, "man må le til man må gråte og leve til man dør," (one must laugh until they cry and live until they die) sums up the overall message of the song - life is short, so make the most of it while you can.
